Thanks for sharing your experience. We do try and accommodate patients - we all appreciate that sometimes you just can't help being delayed. In the main, as long as you're only a few minutes late we can hold on - or if we have a free slot within the session we will always work things where we can.

A day at the Doctors

3 out of 5 stars
workingfeedback logo
I have tried on two occasions to see a Doctor and ended up with a Nurse. I have an ulcerated cut on my leg, One Nurse gave me ointment, which never worked, so I tried for a Doctors appointment and got a Nurse who I'm sure wasn't to sure what he had to do. So he gave me antibiotics which did about as much good as tree moss and to keep on using the ointment. So the last time I went to Paulsgrove to see if I could see a Doctor, but alas no vacancies due to quota filled. I've tried phoning, but by the time both Doctors has spouted their blurb, about corona virus and then give as much information. I'm told that due to such a high volume of calls will I call back and the line goes dead. I've gone beyond being angry. Now I 've to have a second blood test with no reason why !,

I'm sorry that you have not been able to get to the bottom of your medical issue. A doctor is not always the most appropriate person to see you - we will always direct you to the member of the team that has the most training or current experience with specific medical issues. Of course, I do understand that on this occasion this hasn't resolved the problem for you on first contact. We are also experiencing high volumes of calls at present, particularly around COVID vaccinations -and so we urge patients to use our econsult service https://portsdowngrouppractice.webgp.com/ where possible. We do advise that if your problem is urgent, that you call as close to 8am as you can. I do appreciate that our call queues are limited and sometimes you are cut off - but once you are in the queue, please stay in it! Position 15 does not mean a very long wait - we have also updated our call queues to give you position number in queue and the average wait time. We regularly review this information to direct resource appropriately.

Regrettably we cannot do much about the coronavirus blurb on our phone system - and we need to 'spout' about how our appointment system works, to ensure patients are directed appropriately to avoid frustration and ensure people are in the right 'queue' - however we do review this to and amend our messages when it is considered necessary.

GP Online Consultation

5 out of 5 stars
workingfeedback logo
I needed to talk to a GP in order to have my repeat prescription filled, so I scheduled a telephone consultation with a GP. He called me at the promised time. I don't know his name, but he was extremely attentive and acted like he really cared about how I was doing. He was in no rush to get through his consultation list, and he was extremely warm and also very professional. I go to a different clinic, but if I could have this doctor as my GP, I would change clinics tomorrow! Well done!

Reviewing my ongoing prescription

5 out of 5 stars
workingfeedback logo
When I tried to request my repeat prescriptions online as I always do, the site wouldn't let me tick the boxes for the medicine I take, and I noticed there was a note telling me I needed a GP consultation this time in order the process my request. I scheduled a telephone consultation, and the GP called me at the time scheduled. He couldn't have been nicer or more attentive. In fact, I liked him so much that I wish he could be my regular GP, but I go to the Kingston Crescent Clinic, and I don't think he works there. Also, these days you 'get who you get.' The GP's at Kingston are fine too, but whoever I talked to was fantastic. I don't know his name, but I really liked him. He spoke to me as if he cared about me, and he was very professional.

Thank you for the 5 star review. Appreciate you 'only' had a phone review, but your feedback is still important to us. Due to COVID we do endeavour to deliver care over the telephone, where possible and appropriate. We also offer patients the opportunity to contact us via econsult - https://portsdowngrouppractice.webgp.com/ for any routine or administrative queries. We are, of course, happy to see or patients when it is appropriate, but we are limiting face to face contact and footfall at our surgeries when possible, for everyone's safety.
