The nurse listened

This is the first time the HCA listened to what I had to say, that no one can get blood from my arm only from the back of my hand. The nurse went to the back of my hand and got blood straight away, every other time they have tried sometimes three attempts to get blood, even after I've informed them that never happens so this this visit to get blood was perfect. I know my body.

I had a blood test ,and using the standard method of taking blood it did,nt work after two attempts to try and get blood out of the same arm and moving the needle around , which by the way is very painful ,the nurse then said I think we should try with a smaller needle and it came with a small plastic tube attached and that got the amount of blood required ,I was told by a nurse at the QA HOSPITAL that they should not move the needle around to draw blood ,and i know she,s right,,,🤔🤔🤔🥸🥸

There was a significant queue but with multiple treatment rooms operating this was moved through at a reasonable rate. Once in we had our details and requirements established in an efficient and friendly manner. A busy first day of "anti covid customers" was very well handled.

As far as I am concerned once I was in the surgery everything went smoothly. I feel compelled to say that those who were waiting outside had to stand in a long queue for about 30 to 35 minutes which is a long time for the elderly. There was one elderly woman who was sitting down quite frequently to catch her breath. She told me she hadn't realised how long she'd have to wait and left her walking stick in her car. There were several people in a similar situation. A lot of people were complaining about how long the queue was.

Always recommend this surgery. If you can’t get an appointment then you are not using the system correctly! Their Anima online service and triage process works very effectively. So much better than having to make a request at lightening speed at 6.30pm before the system times out!! My family and I can always get seen by the right person in appropriate timescales, or they can help through econsult and issue prescriptions directly to surgery. Routine appointments offered. Reception staff helpful. Doctors and practitioners knowledgeable.

Blood test

The girl who did my blood test was nice and did her best but I've never bruised so much from a blood test. She failed to get blood from my left arm and eventually got blood from my right arm. In her defence my veins aren’t good, have been told it before but my arms hurt all weekend with big bruises, they are still purple now nearly a week later
