I have nothing but good things to say about the medical staff at this surgery. However the econsult system is a bit of a disaster. If you are at work then there is no chance of being able to complete an available econsult. When you specify that you can't answer the phone because you are working and would prefer to be contacted by text or email, you get a call which you can't take. Sometimes you get no response whatsoever and the notification you're asked to return to inform the surgery just goes to a 404 error message. Very frustrating.

Routine blood test
I have had bloods taken many times over the years but on this occasion it was a horrendous experience. The HCW went in too deep and kept jabbing into the vein as she took multiple samples. It was clear I was in significant pain as she asked me if it was ok to carry on. I have never had anything other than slight discomfort when giving bloods before.

Our contact centre and reception staff have been trained by our GP Partners to ask the relevant questions, to enable the correct signposting to the appropriate clinician, although you may want to speak to a GP, another clinician or team may be better suited, that is why we have such a wide clinical and holistic team.

I have been trying to get an appointment for a number of things but it is so difficult, they sell out fast! It’s easier to get a Glastonbury Festival ticket which are like gold dust!!!
My Mum at the same surgery has given up and suffers because of it.
It is irresponsible to leave people unable to access GPS!

Whenever I get to see/talk with a member of medical staff at the practice they are in the main great. The only issue I have with the practice is administrative. Econsult are full before 8am, if you fill something in wrong you have to start all over again. Not being able to get through on the phone and being told to call back later. Only being able to call certain departments at certain times, being cut off after queueing for 20 minutes. When you do get through somebody of the admin staff do their best but some are just downright rude. When I was in last week a really old lady came in to make an appointment. She said she had been calling every day of a week and couldn’t get through. She was basically told to go away and try doing it online or keep calling and that reception couldn’t help her. It was really disappointing to see.

Thank you for your feedback. I am pleased that when you manage to speak to medical staff that on the whole that is great. With regards to the administrative side of things, we are currently reviewing the feedback received from patients, to enable us to decide whether an alternative time would be preferred for eConsults to be available. We will ensure we share the outcome with all patients and advise if changes are to be made. The reason it is important that the correct form is completed, as they will have specific questions related to the chosen symptoms, we will only request the correct form is completed, if there is not enough information provided. We have limited the number of phone lines that we have, this means that if you call and all the lines are full, that your call will not be connected and you will need to try again, this is to ensure that patients are not holding for too long. If you call please do hold, as we do get through our calls relatively quickly, in July the average wait time on our routine line was 5.7 minutes and on our urgent line 6.9. Our reception staff are advised to signpost to the telephone and on-line where possible, they will assist those who are unable or do not have access to those facilities.
