Appointment

2 out of 5 stars

I had an appointment for a blood test. I cannot fault anything about it the nurse was informative, friendly and called me bang on time and explained what would happen next. So no problem at all. What I do have a problem with is what I had to do to get that appointment and now what I have to do to get it followed up. The receptionist automatically say 'do an e-consult' without listening to what you need and the e=consult portal seems to be open for such a short space of time. For one thing I needed help with from GP, I have now completed 4 e-consults and I am still waiting for the outcome. So I have rated the service poor but this is by no means the nurses fault.

Thank you for your comments. We are pleased that your nurse appointment was as expected. We are sorry that the receptionist did not listen to you, we will share this with the team and take learning from it. It is important that you complete the correct eConsult and must complete separate forms for each issue, when completely unrelated. Currently we are responding to eConsults usually within 48 hours, although we advice 5 days to allow for any unknowns.

Service at surgery good but getting an appointment very hard work, why being told to phone back for non urgent appointment at 2pm should be made clear before having to .phone repeatedly

Thank you for your comments. We have set call times which enable us to maximise the staff we have available and also prioritise urgent cases. Our urgent line opens at 8am, this is for acute or new concerns, the routine calls open at 10 am this is for long standing/ ongoing issues that require a longer appointment and a 2 minute triage call is not suitable for. On-line appointments can be booked form 7pm weekday evenings and eConsults are available from 7.30 am, it is important that the correct forms are completed.

Impossible to get an appointment

1 out of 5 stars

I was told to ring at 10am or 7pm or use the online appointment system. I have been trying for several weeks but there are none available. I was once told as GPs are not available I should book a nurse practitioner one. None available. Only bloods and child immunisation. How can one get an appointment to see any professional at this Group of Doctors.

The surgery requested a blood test, all was perfectly in order, and treatment good, however if it were me that wanted an appointment that's a different story, I have not seen a Dr, in 3 years and I am disabled!!

Received a quick response after an e-consult. A face to face appointment arranged and the Dr I saw (sorry cant remember his name) was extremely professional, thorough and referred me to appropriate services. Friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Steroid injection

5 out of 5 stars
workingfeedback logo
My appointment was for a 09.30 timeslot and I was in and out shortly after that time. The nurse named Carl explained what to expect from the injection and despite an expected sting from the injection I was able to continue with my day without any issues. Carl also told me that the steroid would take about a fortnight to have the desired effect and as I write this review I notice that the injection has been effective as I have no issues with my trigger finger problem.

Not actually Kinston Crescent but within the group practice

I have been trying since then of the last lockdown to get a GP appointment to have my increasing mobility issues assessed. I tried on numerous occasions to contact by telephone at exactly 10am but each time there were no telephone consultations available. Once I was on hold (to some ghastly music that I am convinced is designed to force one to terminate the call) for almost 45 minutes. Another time, despite being on hold (same ghastly music) For just 9 minutes, there were still no consultations available causing me to wonder, if they are all gone in 9 minutes, how many are actually available at the time the phone line opens. I tried system online at exactly 7pm as advise. Only cervical smear and bloods appointments available. I tried the eConsult form but could not proceed due to some answer that I had given and was advised to call 111. This I did and, due to the operator telling me that a report would be sent advising the practice that I needed to be seen within 12 hours, I actually achieved the required consultation the next day, not at Kingston Crescent but at Cosham. Hooray!
