The lengthy process of a hole in my chest wall closing up is a lengthy process for my body to accomplish, - as it would be for anyone else.
The speed with which infection can take hold is something that I have seen so many times during my lifetime, and when it came to me being in the frame for preventative aftercare, I was grateful for all that has been done to date to keep the wound site (and operation site) clean and gunge-free by the clinicians at my practice.
I am in the last few weeks (at the rate of healing so far) of dressing changes and hope to be clear very soon.
The advice given at the time of dressing and the care extended to prevent serious infection has been invaluable and the staff cannot be praised highly enough.

Telephoned at 8 am and requested the doctor call back. Doctor phoned at 8.20 and talked me through how I was feeling and my symptoms, she then arranged for a prescription to be sent to my nominated pharmacy.

The physio was very thorough, quickly realising my problem. He suggested some exercises which should help me and wrote them down so I should not forget them! That's what I call service!

Thanks for your feedback. Number of patients in the practice is, unfortunately, no indication of the complexity or how acute the problem is that is being dealt with. We telephone traige a lot of patients and, on occasion, have to facilitate ambulance conveyance. We may have a patient in a consultation room that has fallen very unwell and we need all available staff to assist. It's not a common occurrence and we appreciate people's understanding when it does happen.

It's so hard to see a doctor. I had a letter to say I got kidney disease, I would have liked to have seen a doctor, I was so shocked.

Had trouble getting through on phone, when I eventually got through I was told I had the wrong line although I thought it was an emergency. Got through a second time this time the person was more helpful she said she would pass on the message to the diabetic team and told me an alternative to do which I did and they gave me an answer. Second time I had to contact a doctor was good got a good response and was seen the same day.
