Thank you for your comments. We are sorry that gaining access often requires perseverance, unfortunately this is an issue for all of Primary care, however we are pleased that the appointment itself is to your expectations.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you felt you were not listened to during your consultation, often the first line of action can be one type of treatment, if that does not work you may be offered an alternative. Also it is worth noting that clinicians do sometimes have different opinions as to the first course of treatment, this does not mean one of them is wrong, but have differing ways to treat.

Appointment
I rang the drs for a routine appt because there were 4 things of concern. My worries accumulated! I was told that was rather a lot! I was told I would get a call back by 6.30 that evening. I was rung at lunch time and advised to go onto econsult the next morning at 7.30, with 2 ways in Sent to me. Go to the chemist about the cough that seemed to have developed more since covid. I would hear by 6.30 about my ear. I was rung late afternoon and given an 8.30 slot at Cosham the next morning. So having managed to spend over 20 minutes answering econsult, unsatisfactory I went To Cosham. I saw a helpful nurse practitioner who prescribed a spray for my ear. She kindly looked at the marks on my breast, and the growths on my neck. She didn't think my breast was of concern and the growths were cosmetic. So in my alloted slot she helped with 3 of the problems, and reduced the rising blood pressure.

Thank you for your comments. Standard practice is for one issue per appointment, often an eConsult is the best option for certain ailments, however we are pleased that the Practitioner was able to assist you with three concerns.

Poor Performance
Not so much Kingston Crescent per se, but more Portsdown Group Practice as a whole. Terrible set up trying to get an appointment, especially econsult.

Thank you for your comments. Primary care in general has issues with access, however we constantly monitor our resources and ensure we offer the maximum number of appointments that we can. eConsults are released each morning and then closed once we have reached capacity for the day.

Covid Vaccination as usual one appointment for innumerable patients. However the queue continued moving albeit slowly! Likely the only way to get it done.

Thank you for your feedback. Access is an on-going issue that we constantly strive to improve where possible. A triage appointment in most cases is carried out initially, this will then determine which clinician is appropriate to deal with your request.

Appointment with Prescribing Paramedic
Whilst making appointments is still frustratingly difficult, on achieving this I cannot fault the professionalism and empathy of the clinician I saw.
He was welcoming, understanding and very thorough in his examination and explanation of proposed treatment. I was quickly provided a prescription, a follow up blood test and am awaiting an X-ray.
The only issue I have is that I need to be reviewed again after the test results and yet I am unable to make a follow up appointment.

Thank you for your feedback. It is well publicised that access to Primary care is an issue, however we ensure we maximise the appointments made available to patients, we have seen a small increase in those over the last few months. Please note that our reception and contact centre staff are employed to ask questions and appropriately signpost to other services where required, often patients perceive them as being rude, when they do not get the preferred outcome when they contact.
