In my opinion, reception could be a bit more dignified and polite in helping patients. Just telling patients they can't help and to go to a walk-in centre.
The waiting time on the phone and appointments is absolutely disgusting.
You could be in hospital before you see a GP.

Called in late, nurse was ok, told me the doctor would be in touch if there was a problem.
Doctor phoned at 8.40 in the evening when I had given up and turned the phone off, the same thing happened the next day, still waiting.

Every phone and talk with people recently has been one major battle after having bad asthma and breathing problems for 7 weeks the people I've seen at Cosham Park, one who just gave out steroids after listening to my breathing without even doing a peak flow test and the second one I saw couldn't even find the right peak flow to do a test and dithered over his decision making for nearly twenty minutes. The third person was a phone chat clinician who said I would be referred to respiratory, no call back from them so I chased that up, referred again and again to respiratory, but no call back. Next call I made was when I had left side chest pains to do with asthma "oh we cant fit you in go to accident and emergency, why weren't you put on antibiotics in the first place? This has now affected your left lung get back to your GP and tell them what I've said" still no antibiotics, eventually I got put on tablets. We play a waiting game now to see if it does anything since the coughing got worse, breathing got worse, peak flow hit record low of 300 but of course, everywhere is closed for Easter, we now watch and wait for things to work. I shouldn't have to battle like this to get the correct help it seems some nurses and clinicians need to go back to basics and remember when asthma has crackly airways you treat that first with antibiotics once that is cleared then look at inhalers, if antibiotics fail then look at using steroids with them, never had to battle so much to get right help it shouldn't take 7 weeks before the help starts and things minutely change.
