The doctor listened to my needs and helped me 1000 times more than the e-consult that I did over a week before! The e-consult was telling me I needed to possibly try anti depressants for mood swings caused by peri menopause! This is just outrageous. I’m 47 and have been on the pill to control menopause symptoms but it’s no longer working. I’ve even tried HRT before.
The doctor listened to me and I was finally heard and I will be forever grateful. All my symptoms are textbook so to be fobbed off with taking all these other things was not acceptable. This doctor on this appointment was spot on. Thank you.
Although I’m yet to feel the benefit but at least I’m on the right medication now.

Life Saving Help
On Friday 25th March 2022 I reported to Kingston Crescent Surgery with breathing problems after reporting it to 911, my oxygen levels were very low and I was going into distress. The nurses that treated me were very kind, thoughtful and professional. They put me on a oxygen bottle and called an ambulance and I was taken to QA Hospital where I still am (1st April 2022). I would like to thank both of the nurses for help saving my life. I have heard that some people knock the surgery but all I have is praise for them. Very well done.

To be honest I do think Portsdown Group practice is hit and miss. Unless you have a PC you never get an appointment. The surgery seems like they don't really care and the bottom line is if you dont have a PC how in hell are you supposed to get an appointment? I'm using my phone to type this so don't think I used a PC or laptop because I dont have one. Also if it is on record you're having a blood test on a Monday and the doctor wants another blood test Wednesday! So why not communicate with each other? So there is a lack of communication in the surgery. If I could find a surgery where you dont need a PC to make appointments I'd leave the Portsdown Group as I do think power has gone to their heads. When phoning it is so annoying having to listen to the automated service why can't we speak to a person?

Thank you for your feedback. We offer access to all patients through various means, to allow patient's choice and also to try ensure that all patients can gain access. Appointments can be arranged via telephone, through on-line via PC, laptop or mobile telephone. We also have eConsult, often a preferred alternative, however this is limited to on-line. Also patients can attend and gain appointments at reception. All of our calls are answered by a member staff. You are correct in the fact that if more than one blood test is required there should be communication to ensure these are carried out in one appointment, this would be beneficial for both you and us, we will share this with our team and make changes where we can.

Vaccination Boosters
After receiving a text reminder for vaccinations for Tetanus and MMR. I arrived just before my appointment of 11 am and booked into the system very easily. I took a seat and was called by the doctor promptly. The vaccinations were administered and I was able to leave shortly afterwards. I found the experience to be satisfactory.

Appointment For Issues with Left Arm
I call the surgery because of severe tingling in my left arm which is progressively getting worse. I was given a next day appointment with a physiotherapist to check my arm. Because I had bowel cancer in 2016 and Covid in December last year. He spoke to my GP who felt it would be a good idea to have a scan on my chest. During my appointment I felt they want to find out what is causing it. Doctor I saw was very nice
Doctor I saw was very nice, didn't rush me, as well as the reason I was there talked about long term and gave me medication for that also. I don't go doctors that often normally just deal with problem myself as most time feel like you just a number and shouldn't be bothering them. Only thing I do think is a here no appointments left and get told should call 8am wen u have been. Absolutely awful is trying to ring at 8am to get appointment as always busy and you could be calling constantly from 8am and if you eventually get through to Doctor I saw was very nice, didn't rush me, as well as the reason I was there talked about long term and gave me medication for that also.
