Asthma review

After receiving a text to ask me to book an appointment for my asthma review I went online and booked. Even with a review booked you proceeded to send me texts to ask me to book.
When I went online to book my review I did not find it easy nor timely to navigate the site for my specific appointment. After selecting my appointment it clearly showed the appointment time, type and location. As there were no local appointments I took a half day off from work to attend. Whilst I was stood in the queue as the checking in machine would not accept my details I received a call for my asthma review. I explained I was stood in the surgery as directed by the online booking. The professional and sympathetic apology I received was acceptable. I was informed that this was not an isolated problem and it appeared that people had not been sent a message to inform that this was a telephone consultation. The only messages I received were ones to tell me to book an already booked appointment. I double checked my online appointment, including on the day and it specifically told me the site to go to for my appointment. Otherwise my appointment was excellent, felt supported and left with a clear understanding.

I attended on Thursday 24 March 2022 having been called to have my blood pressure checked. I was seen promptly and then was told the result without having to ask. However, as with my previous appointment, for a repeat blood test, on Monday 7 February, neither the person who phoned me to say I needed to attend nor the health professional who administered the procedures could tell me why it was necessary for them to be done. This is, of course, unacceptable; if, as I suppose there is or I would not have been called, a concern about my health I have a right to know what it is.

You are quite right in saying that you should be aware, however I would encourage to ask the question, when you attend or make the appointment. Often it is incorrectly assumed that the patient is aware of what the tests are for, we will share this is our team and make changes where we can.

I had an appointment for 09.15. I was not seen tell 10.25. and the when I came out to speak to the lady who sat on the left of reception I found her attitude to be very rude and abrupt and not very helpful.
