I did make an appointment with the doctor, but thought being it was an injection I would only see a nurse. I was surprised when a doctor did it, as haven’t seen a doctor for a while like about 3 years.

Disappointing

3 out of 5 stars

It is almost impossible to get an appointment at this surgery. You end up calling twice a day, at 8 and 2 to be told when you finally get through to someone that all appointments are gone and to try when the next appointments become available. They tell you to do an econsult but that seems to have been switched off for the last two weeks at least. They have taken on too many patients when swallowing up many of the local practices but do not have enough doctors to cater for their needs. I actually ended up hospitalised last year in a very serious condition for something antibiotics could have easily fixed if I had been able to see someone! Once you get an appointment the doctors and nurses are brilliant, but it's so stressful trying to get to them. I have tried to make a complaint before but nobody ever got back to me. Very poor service to be honest

Recent experience

14th Feb was my first experience as my previous Doctor had closed. The speed of treatment and kindness was lovely, I thanked the receptionist for all their help. 21st Feb I had to go to have another ECG and blood pressure. I asked the lady taking blood if she could look at my leg, which was black, I was pretty sure it was bruising but I wanted reassurance. So ...couldn't get anyone to look at it, saw receptionist (she was lovely) and to wait for a Doctor. I hadn't been home long and Doctor phoned and asked me to go back and I saw a lovely Nurse who put my mind at rest. My point is surely someone could have seen me while I was there. I am lucky that my husband could bring me straight back as there were some appointments, some people don't have transport to go back again to Doctors when all that is needed is a little reassurance. I was very happy with all the help I received but do think someone could have looked while I was there as there were appointments.

Thank you for your feedback. With the ever-increasing demands on our services, it is simply not possible or, indeed, appropriate for all our patients to see a GP, particularly for urgent problems. All of our Nurse Practitioners and Paramedic Practitioners are fully clinically trained and supported by an on-site duty doctor if they need any assistance whatsoever.

Blood Test

The nurse that did my blood test had done something wrong not sure what exactly. It caused my arm to be swollen for 3 days and bruise that only has gone after 18 days of the blood test. My arm was extremely painful and I had limited mobility.

Had appointment for steroid injections. Saw a lovely guy Carl who had a very calming manner. He had to call in the doctor as because of swelling he could not pinpoint the exact area. The injections were administered very professionally.

Better than I’d hoped!

The phone waiting times were reasonably acceptable and it’s useful to be informed where you are in the queue. This was a follow up appointment for blood tests and these were taken the very same day. Hadn’t expected that! Waiting time at the surgery was about five minutes. The test results were back within a couple of days and my GP texted me. All I’ll say is that I blame the lockdown and that her diagnosis was probably spot on!
