Hell of a job to see a GP. Phone lines are always busy and when you do get through there is always a stacking system and you could wait up to 25 mins to speak to someone. Then there are no appointments available.

Phone calls
Have been trying to see or talk to a doctor for over a week. Have austioarthritis which is giving me great pain. I phoned every morning at 8 am and every afternoon at 2 pm. I get a message every time telling me to ring back later, which I do for more than 20 minutes at a time, then I was told you're all booked up for the day try again tomorrow. After over a week still cannot get through.Even my chemist cannot help me as they need a prescription from a doctor, am living with constant pain, and do not know where to turn.

Thank you for your feedback. We have invested significantly in our telephone system, which attempts to match capacity with patient demand at all times. There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure.

The whole experience went very smoothly. We were seen on time and my wife and I were seen together. Advised to sit for ten minutes in the waiting area, which was clean and the seating arranged to avoid unnecessary contact. Excellent.
