COVID BOOSTER AT KINGSTON SURGERY

I WAS VERY UPSET WHEN I WENT TO THE SURGERY AS I AM EXEMPT FROM WEARING FACE COVERINGS DUE TO MY BREATHING DIFFICULTIES BUT WHEN I GOT TO THE DOOR THE MEMBER OF STAFF ASKED ME IF I HAD A FACE MASK I EXPLAINED THAT I WAS EXEMPT SO SHE LET ME GO IN BUT FURTHER INTO THE WAITING ROOM ANOTHER MEMBER OF STAFF TOLD ME THAT I HAD TO WEAR A VISOR AGAIN I EXPLAINED I WAS EXEMPT BUT SHE MADE ME WEAR A VISOR & I WAS FINDING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO BREATHE I STARTED COUGHING & WAS VERY SHORT OF BREATH. AFTER I HAD THE COVID BOOSTER I WAS TOLD TO WAIT IN THE WAITING ROOM FOR 10 TO 15 MINUTES BUT THE OTHER PATIENTS STARTED SAYING I WAS SPREADING COVID TO EVERYONE WHICH UPSET ME AS IT WAS DUE TO THE VISOR THAT I WAS COUGHING SO MUCH. I FEEL THAT THE STAFF AT KINGSTON SURGERY SHOULD LISTEN TO WHAT IS BEING SAID I HAVE GONE TO PAULSGROVE SURGERY, COSHAM PARK HOUSE SURGERY AND CROOKHORN SURGERY & I HAVE NEVER HAD TO WEAR ANY FACE COVERINGS AFTER I TELL THE STAFF I AM EXEMPT EVEN AT QA HOSPITAL & ST MARY'S HOSPITAL I DO NOT HAVE TO WEAR FACE COVERINGS SO WHY DID KINGSTON SURGERY FORCE ME TO WEAR A VISOR THAT MADE MY BREATHING WORSE & MADE ME ANXIOUS & VERY NERVOUS ABOUT HAVING THE COVID BOOSTER INJECTION BUT DUE TO MY HEALTH PROBLEMS I MADE MYSELF STAY TO HAVE THE COVID BOOSTER INJECTION. IF I HAVE TO HAVE ANYTHING DONE AT KINGSTON SURGERY I PROBABLY WILL ASK IF THERE IS A DIFFERENT SURGERY I COULD GO TO OR EVEN GO TO A WALK IN CENTRE I WILL NOT GO TO KINGSTON SURGERY EVER AGAIN THEY ARE MEANT TO MAKE YOU BETTER NOT WORSE.

Thank you for your feedback. All COVID vaccinations are given at Kingston as this is the licensed surgery for Portsdown Group Practice. During these clinics the waiting area is very busy, we therefore enforce face coverings being worn, however you should have been offered to attend at the end of the clinic when less people were in attendance to allow you to not wear your face mask if the clinician was happy to proceed on this basis.

Because I had a problem and needed it sorted and the receptionist helped me to find a surgery in Southsea. Although I didn't find it which I've got to find by next Monday as I have to have an injection on that day. They were very helpful.

Had blood test done. Appointment on time and very efficient nurse taken blood. No callback or message to tell me of blood result. Have inconvenience of trying to phone through and chase this up.
