B12 appointment
This appt. was excellent. Seen quickly and nurse was very friendly and professional.
I had an appt the week before which was cancelled. However I was not advised and waited in the waiting room for 15 mins. When I asked the receptionist how long it would take she told me my record showed me as a no show and I rec'd a text whilst in the waiting room saying I had not attended my drs appt!! It then took about 10 mins. to find another appt. This was at Somerstown Hub. I will answer the questions below for the Somerstown debacle.

Breathlessness concern
Was pleased to get an appointment to see a doctor. Was expected at clinic but had to wait outside. Doctor didn’t really reassure me, did temperature, listened at back of chest, couldn’t hear any crackles, decided not to prescribe steroids. Said I had a virus! Spent several days in bed, wheezy chest still, a week later. Tested for Covid, negative.

Again your reception line left a lot to be desired. You now call it a triage line so goodness knows what has become of your beloved care navigators. Once again reception is the biggest hurdle protecting your doctors from seeing the dirty public

Phone system let’s them down
What else can I say? Once you get through to a doctor they are amazing. I received a call from a nurse practitioner who had seen me on the Friday as a follow up to a head injury and promised a callback on the Wednesday. She phoned first thing and then booked me in with a gp. I saw a lovely junior doctor who took all details then double checked with a gp. She gave me another medication and suggested an E-consult for further help.

I found the practitioner to be very caring, and listened to the full history of my problem. She was very thorough in her examination. Also considered what was needed to get to the bottom of this long ongoing problem ordering appropriate tests. With a recommendation to be referred if the tests are inconclusive.

The appointment was for myself and partner for flu jabs only. We arrived 10 minutes early and were called straightaway, which was a pleasant surprise. We are fortunate to be in good health and rarely have need to see a doctor. Perfection
How can perfection be improved upon. Everything was as perfect as perfect could be. We were welcomed by very friendly and professional staff. One member of staff dressed my ulcerated varicose at Crookhorn the day before and was present at Kingston Crescent Surgery to administer my injection. Another staff member who dresses my leg usually at the Cosham Surgery visit every week, gave me a wonderful welcome. So all in all my wife and I were treated with the utmost professional attitude and I'd return to them again if I was entitled to another booster. But alas I'm not.
