Recent appointment
After many attempts to get an appointment with the doctor at Summertown I finally got through to speak to some one on the telephone. I was then advised to go Kingston Crescent Surgery this is not my normal surgery but it was easy to locate but if the gentleman I spoke to sent me a text as he was going too it would have made things better. I had a twenty minute delay to my appointment but the waiting area was covid friendly. I was relieved to finally get an appointment as on previous occasion I had been advised that all appointment had been taken and to go the hospital and take paracetamol. I was then asked to make a appointment for a blood test which I did on line because I wished to go to my regular surgery, only to be advised thirty minutes after booking the appointment that it had to be changed due to staff sickness. It would have been good for someone to contact me because I need this blood test results back before my Hospital appointment.

Thank you for your feedback. We will only ever cancel an appointment due to staff availability, often this can be at short notice, where possible we will re-appoint but sometimes this is not possible.

Thank you for the Flu Jab!
I attended Kingston Crescent Surgery for a flu jab on the 19th October 2021. The online appointment booking process was easy with plenty of slots to choose from. The staff at the Surgery were friendly and professional. The waiting room felt clean, tidy and spacious with covid safety measures appropriately signposted. I arrived on time and waited only a couple of minutes before being called for my appointment. Overall a very positive experience.

High blood pressure
Since I drive I didn’t mind driving from Waterlooville to Kingston Crescent for an emergency appointment. The trainee nurse took my BP. It was high and the supervising nurse went and spoke to a doctor and I was prescribed some meds. The whole experience gave me peace of mind and was quickly, efficiently handled.

Xray and blood test results
I received a telephone call to visit surgery for face to face consultation with GP on the following Monday, I was amazed knowing how difficult it is to actually get through to the surgery let alone get an appointment within weeks, also this fact worried me as I expected some bad news due to the prompt reaction, fortunately this was not the case, when I arrived I was seen quickly by the gp - Dr Gaught, she was very informative and whilst she had not yet been sent my xrays she took steps to check the affected area, just in case there was an obvious issue, all was well in fact following her examination one of my issues was mainly resolved indicating to myself ,a layman part of the issue could have been due to a trapped nerve she inadvertently corrected -so well done. The visit was very relaxed and professionally handled, I just find all the negatives I and many others hold about the operating methods of the group practice management need serious overhaul as the doctors have always given exemplary service, under difficult protocols, it must have a damning effect on their morale.

The best of the best
The staff are extremely pleasant. Was surrounded by 3 nurses and all of them wanted to give me an injection or take a blood sample. All were smiling and laughing while I was shaking in fear (not really). Extremely professional.

Walk in Flu vaccination.
Being told the previous week that you could attend a walk in flu vaccinations most days I decided to make sure I had mine.
On Monday I left just after 9am for the centre, only to be told I could book an appointment for a flu vaccination. I mentioned being told the previous week it was a walk in clinic,
I was asked could I come back after 12pm. I said this was not suitable [another long walk both ways], I was told I could wait if I wanted to. I asked how many people were in front of me and being told two others, I decided to wait. I made sure my arm was ready and waited [and waited]. I was at the GP's for an hour at least. What I did not realise was I must have been waiting for a doctor to vaccinate me in between their appointments. The nurses seemed to be vaccination babies and when they came out to call people more than one had asked me why I was there. It just seemed silly to me making patients wait so long in the current [Covid] situation. It would have been far better to me having a 1-2 hour slot just for walk in vaccinations.
As of today I am due my booster Covid.

Thank you for your feedback. We will not turn away any patient from having their flu vaccination, however these are not booked slots and it is your choice if you want to wait. The immunisations given by the HCAs are booked appointments and they unfortunately would not have available time in between to provide the walk in vaccinations.
