A while ago I contacted the practice with regard to a medication review. As advised by the Reception Staff, I completed an e consult form online and waited for the phone call on the date and time on the form. This never happened. I completed another form just in case, and again waited, and waited. Eventually after quite a long time, a prescribing person phoned and carried out the review.
All in all this process took nearly 2 weeks I believe.
Whilst I realise that this is a busy and large group, I was not happy about the length of time it took.

Vertigo ear infection
The day I phoned I got through to speak to reception as said it was emergency and explained how I felt and she said that someone would phone me back which they did and was seen that day which I was grateful fr as felt so ill, so overall no problems. But trying to get through to get appointment for blood test fasting cholesterol is a nightmare as you only got certain times and when you busy they say put phone down try again later very frustrating.

Blood Test Bruises
I have thin veins which need a Butterfly Canula. Having drunk at least two half litres of water in the hour prior to my Diabetic Blood Test the Nurse still had difficulty finding my veins. Only one small phial was drawn from my right arm - which is now very bruised. Two small phials were drawn from my left arm.
Not happy with having to wear long sleeved blouses in this heat - as bruises on my arms attract alot of attention when outside.

Thank you for your feedback. Due to your veins you are more prone to bruising. What we can do is provide blood forms for you to have your blood taken at the hospital, please enquire next time that your blood test is due.

Visit for Shingles Vaccination
Helpful staff on reception who showed me how to book in - waiting time to be seen approximately 10 mins - the person I saw explained the vaccination and also offered a Tetanus vaccination which I accepted. A very fuss free appointment thanks to very friendly helpful staff

Poor service from an extremely over subscribed GP surgery
Did an econsult on 26 May and eventually received a call from a GP on 8th June after making a complaint. Had asked to speak to a particular GP but got someone I had never heard of or spoken to before. Had obviously not read records before making call and had no idea what I was talking about. Waste of time call, now changing GP surgery as service at Portsdown is so bad. Pity as they started so well.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that the eConsult was not responded to as soon as you were expecting. We are making changes to improve the process and the current timescales that we are working to. As with any request, this is sent to the next available clinician and can be delayed even further if a specific GP has been requested. We are sorry that you are looking to register elsewhere, but this is your choice.

Had to wait nearly two weeks for a doctor to call me back. I had run out of tablets and needed them so after going so long they told me that it's already been sent to my chemist. I went to pick them up but as always they haven't been sent through so going to have to call doctors yet again to get them to resend this is twice now it's happened.

Happy Patient
Since moving to Kingston Crescent from my previous GP, I have been very happy with the service. Even at the height of the Covid crisis I was able to have consultations online. I also feel like I am genuinely listened to and my concerns taken seriously.

Trying to see a doctor
The chances of actually seeing a person are now so small its ridiculous, trying to phone to get an appt is useless. Phone at 8am to be told to phone at 10... phone at 10am to be told all apps gone phone at 2pm... call at 2pm guess what call at 8am tomorrow as no more apps.
The call people are rude and the receptionists really unhelpful most of the time.

Efficient and prompt attention
I have COPD, and a Chest infection developed over Bank holiday weekend. Luckily had some steroids left from previous emergency medicine, so started that. Still breathless and coughing on the Tuesday following, Phoned in morning and after 35 minute wait call was answered and an appointment made for that lunchtime with a nurse/practitioner at Kingston surgery which is not my usual surgery, but accessible as my wife was able to drive me there. We had a short wait sitting in the car in the car park alongside the surgery, and were called in through side gate, not coming into contact with anyone but the nurse practitioner, and using hand sanitiser at door before entering the surgery. Problem was dealt with efficiently and I felt enough time was taken to fully comprehend my concerns and ailments.
