This is the second time in the last 12 months that I have been seen by a nurse practitioner for similar conditions, not given the current medication and then within a few days had to then get an emergency appointment to see a qualified doctor who then has to put it right. It's just not good enough really.

Thank you for your feedback. With the ever-increasing demands on our services, it is simply not possible or, indeed, appropriate for all our patients to see a GP, particularly for urgent problems. All of our Nurse Practitioners and Paramedic Practitioners are fully clinically trained and supported by an on-site duty doctor if they need any assistance whatsoever.

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry that you describe your experience of booking a blood test as disappointing. We usually have nursing appointments available up to 4 weeks in advance, though this has not been the case recently as we settle into our COVID vaccination programme. However, we are putting most clinics on in advance again (except Kingston Crescent as it is our designated vaccination site so we have no choice but to be shorter notice there) so you should find this short term issue has resolved. Please don't forget you can also book blood tests using the patient online services!

Routine GP appointments are limited, and we are currently undertaking extensive work on routine access and eConsults to maximise capacity. We have an extensive healthcare team to assist you, as a GP may not always be the most appropriate member of the team. We can assure you we are still here!
