Try to get appointment in may/June for steroid injection in my foot and was only phoned back last week, had to use all my holiday from work so I could rest my foot so I could carry on working

I felt very safe, good social distancing. The staff were polite and assertive about the rules on arrival. The doctor took time to answer my questions. I was very pleased as this was my first time at this surgery as I used to attend Stubbington Ave.

Visit for flu jab

Visited for flu jab and checked my blood pressure on machine. Pulse rate was fast so reported to Doctor who did my flu jab. Checked it at home and it had come down quite a lot but he did alarm me a bit

The lady when I initially called up was very pleasant and helpful. Impressed with the text reminders. Then at the surgery (a first time visit for me) I was seen very quickly.

1. Reception staff not taking temperatures of all people coming in selecting a few to take them
2. One of staff at Reception not helpful- when explained not able to book appointment via phone told bluntly to write in a complain if not happy.
3. Staff did not appear friendly or reassuring nature.

They do, however, work in what can, at times, be a stressful environment and have to endure unacceptable levels of abuse. Temperature is checked at the door before admittance is allowed. Chairs are kept at the recommended distance apart. Felt like everything was well organised and running fairly smoothly.

Lovely nurse but needle skills need improvement

Went to the surgery for a blood test @8:10am on the 2nd of November. My right arm was stabbed extremely painfully. Managed to take some blood from my left arm. Both of my arms left in pain. Too painful for me to lift heavy stuff for two days after. There is a big bruise on my left arm, as big as my palm until now 8 days after. The nurse was a sweet lady. She is lovely and friendly but it would be better if her needle skills are improved.

I have covered my main concerns in the second part of this review, which are that the counter staff are some of the worst I have ever met, and that it is almost impossible to book an appointment to see a doctor. I was told by my doctor to make a second appointment in two weeks time, but I tried on the phone every ten minutes from 10am, (as advised) for two and a half hours, then every half hour til 2pm without any luck.

Thank you for your feedback. We have invested significantly in our telephone system, which attempts to match capacity with patient demand at all times. There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure.
