The medical staff are good it is just the appointment system that is ludicrous, why you just can't book an appointment in advance simply is beyond me, very frustrating

Thank you for your feedback, we are currently working hard to reduce our 'Do Not Attends,' in October at Kingston Crescent 135 appointments were not attended, this is a total of lost clinician time of 55.3 hours or 2.3 weeks, an average cost of £1,729. If these had been cancelled more appointments would have been available to others.

Is the worst practice I've know.. your general enquiry number should be open all day not just 2pm. Had to chase up my own results. Receptionist always blank people why wasting. Never a warm welcome no smiles. My last one queens rd. Best ever. Cannot get appointments. Even though dr get £100 per patient. As a manager. Badly run I always see.

Thank you for your feedback. We would like to assure you that all of our staff are fully trained in customer care. They do, however, work in what can, at times, be a stressful environment and have to endure unacceptable levels of abuse. Thank you again for your feedback, which will be shared with our Surgery Reception Teams.

Was sent to this surgery other than my usual one after calling 111.
Really good quality care, I really felt listened to and that time was not an issue. Was also given blood tests immediately as a precaution without having to wait at all, and as a result got the assurance I needed that I had no underlying problems. Would recommend the doctor's surgery.

Trying to get to see the doctor is the hardest part. In other surgeries there has always been a drop in session where you can wait to be seen on the day.
Here it is to phone but you can not get through, once I was told to go to walk in clinic even though I was in the surgery because I knew I had a kidney infection and needed antibiotics but could not get to speak or see a doctor to do a prescription.

Thank you for your feedback. We have invested significantly in our telephone system, which attempts to match capacity with patient demand at all times. There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure.

Thank you for your feedback. With the ever-increasing demands on our services, it is simply not possible or, indeed, appropriate for all our patients to see a GP, particularly for urgent problems. All of our Nurse Practitioners and Paramedic Practitioners are fully clinically trained and supported by an on-site duty doctor if they need any assistance whatsoever.

Out of date service

2 out of 5 stars
workingfeedback logo
The surgery needs to adopt a more modern and updated approach to patient service, most of the appointments and enquires could be answered by E-mail and face to face phone conversation. Prescription's take far to long to to be issued and opening hours are to confined to shop hours. The surgery needs to change.

Making a doctors appointment

2 out of 5 stars
workingfeedback logo
When you are not feeling yourself and consider you might need to see a doctor you need to feel that your 'phone call for that appointment is important. On several occasions either on the 'phone or in person I feel as though I am being an inconvenience and the service from the reception is poor. I would add that the last time I booked an appointment on the 'phone I was surprised to get one for the following week, but again the tone of the conversation lacked what I would call ' Customer Service'

Health Check Appointment

5 out of 5 stars
workingfeedback logo
The most frustrating part of the whole experience is how long it takes to actually telephone through to book a routine appointment, I waited 15 minutes in the queue before I spoke to someone. The actual visit to the surgery was was a good experience and the nurse who carried out my health check was friendly and very knowledgeable about the procedure, explaining everything she was doing along the way.

Call backs and emergency appointments

4 out of 5 stars
workingfeedback logo
I cannot fault the call back service and the emergency appointments.
I have needed these a few times, I didn’t have to wait too long and I was treated with respect and felt I was being really listened to. The routine appointments are a bit different, and I always struggle to get an appointment. These appointments are usually for meds reviews etc (before I can request more meds), this has meant at times I have run out of meds before I can get an appointment. I don’t feel I should take an emergency app for meds review, but if face to face app is not essential I will now try for a call back appointment.
Overall I am very happy with Kingston crescent surgery.
