For an 8 o'clock appointment it would of been better to get in to the surgery for the time book and not 5 past the hour and wait 20 min for a blood test.

Lovely and competent staff

The staff is lovely and competent. The only problem is its a nightmare getting an appointment via the phone. You have to queue like for an hour ( I am not exaggerating) and then the call keeps dropping and you have to start all over again. It is so frustrating.

Thank you for your feedback. We have invested significantly in our telephone system, which attempts to match capacity with patient demand at all times. There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure.

Thank you for your feedback, we are currently working hard to reduce our 'Do Not Attends,'in August at Kingston Crescent, 51 appointments were not attended, this is a total of lost clinician time of 46.7 hours or 1.9 weeks, an average cost of £1,255. If these had been cancelled more appointments would have been available to others.

Treated me with utmost respect

I am satisfied with the level of service that I have received from this practice so far. The nursing staff and Doctors that I have seen have all treated me with utmost respect and professionalism. Waiting times have not been too bad and I've been seen fairly quickly each time from the scheduled time of my appointment. I did have a problem recently trying to get an emergency appointment on a Monday, whereby I waited in the queue only for the phone to keep ringing and then only to get a cut-off dial tone. Other than this, I found that I could get an appointment on the day, fairly easily. I like the idea of the touch screen sign-in system to let staff know you are there for your appointment. Also, having access to your recent test results online is also useful. So far, so good and I will continue to attend this practice as it is very local and convenient and I am happy with their current quality of service.

I phoned for an appointment on the morning of the same day and was offered a triage appointment that morning. I was received by Paramedic Andrew Taylor whose approach to my treatment was very professional and thorough and who decided I should go to QA ED for further examination and prepared an account of the exam accompanied by a heart trace and then requested an ambulance to collect me from surgery. I cannot fault anything in the treatment I received from Mr Taylor.

Reception staff do a wonderful job

I could not recommend the reception staff much more highly. They are so lovely despite all the rubbish they have to deal with day to day. I have always found they are very helpful and kind. I have found they always try their best and explain when it is out of their control for what ever reason. But they deserve so much more recognition as they are the front line of the surgery and have to deal with a lot of horrible stressy people which I guess comes with the territory however its not fair for them to bare the brunt of patients frustrations when they are just doing their job. I can only say how much I value the reception staff and what a wonderful job they always do.

Such a great doctor

I highly rate Dr Kipgen as he is a wonderful doctor who actually listens and tries to understand. He also is open minded and great as he actually cares about his patients, I always feel comfortable when I see him as he never rushes me due to my many issues and he always tries to help even if there is nothing he can actually do. For all these reasons it is why I only like to see him instead of any other doctor plus it saves repeating myself as he knows my history and it is rare to find such a great doctor to continue with. The only time I ever see any other doctor is if absolutely necessary.

I had two separate appointments. On arrival I was called by the nurse who let me know she is the one doing both appointments, would I like to have both done of which I said yes as I was early in the first place so that was very nice of her and saved a space for someone else. I am very proud of her helpfulness.

We are sorry that you find our Reception staff to be " miserable " we would like to assure you that all of our staff are fully trained in customer care. They do, however, work in what can, at times, be a stressful environment and have to endure unacceptable levels of abuse.
