First decent service in years

3 out of 5 stars

The recent service I received from Kingston crescent was excellent. Probably because the Dr was a locum. The asthma nurse was also excellent. The Dr took me seriously and arranged for me to see the asthma nurse and I am finally getting help with my breathing problem.
Previously I have had to see nurse practitioners, who I believe are working beyond the realms of their limited knowledge. They did not take me seriously and fobbed me off with a cheap inhaler and could not get me out of the door quick enough. My lung capacity is poor. Would it be as bad as it is now if I had got help sooner? I will have to find out. The nurse practitioners just say come back if you need to knowing it is near impossible to get an appointment unless you are a regular.
The receptionists are sour jobsworths. The last thing they want to do is give anybody an appointment. If you want to be a receptionist all you have to do is be able to say no.
As usual everything comes down to money and doing everything as cheap as possible.

Thank you for your feedback. With the ever-increasing demands on our services, it is simply not possible or, indeed, appropriate for all our patients to see a GP, particularly for urgent problems. All of our Nurse Pracitioners and Paramedic Practitioners are fully clinically trained and supported by an on-site duty doctor if they need any assistance whatsoever.

Had some minor surgery done to my face, was put at ease by Dr Monnery and the nurse helping him.
They explained what they would be doing and about the after care. Surgery was done very well. Was also offered some booster jabs. Very pleased with the service.

As I was there I thought I would also get my MMR booster jab as I was previously told that I can drop in anytime during opening hours and get the jab and no appointment was required. The initial appointment went smoothly and there were no issues. I then asked the reception lady for the MMR jab and she told me to wait outside the Duty Doctors room. I waited 45 min - 1 hour before a nurse took me to another room and finally gave me the booster. Clearly the surgery was short staffed that particular day but not impressed. Fortunately I dont visit the Doctors that frequently but I did miss my previous surgery on Queens Road. The staff and Doctors at my previous surgery were absolutely fantastic with me and my family. From my recent visits the majority of the reception staff appear unhappy talking to patients. It can come across as rude and patronising. All I can say is if you are not happy talking to people then find alternative employment.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you waited for "1 hour" for your vaccination. We offer a walk-in service for vaccinations in order to best meet the needs of our patients. There can, however, sometimes be a delay depending on the clinical demand on any given day.

I received a text from the Surgery indicating that an urgent blood test had been requested by Dr. Monnery. I rang the surgery and was immediately offered an appointment in the afternoon on the same day. I was seen by the nurse, blood test done. So on this occasion, all was handled very efficiently.

Told to ring the next day for an emergency appointment but that is totally unnecessary just a routine appointment would be great.

Very hard to get appointments when needed, even emergencies are hard to get. Wait times are very long, by the time you speak to someone all appointments are gone and you get told to call back the next day, only to go through it all again.

A month ago I was examined at QA and a new medication given. On discussion with the GP he asked me to make an appointment for a blood test in one months time. Two weeks ago I was seen by the QA consultant and told I would be checked six monthly. He wrote to the GP asking for blood tests to keep an eye on chemical levels which coincided with what the GPs decision. Evidence of a good relationship between local and hospital staff.
