Fitted me in for the vaccination when I called into the surgery reception in person. Excellent! Only problem has been repeated texts on my mobile phone (which is not a smartphone - so I cannot go onto the link) for me to have the second jab. Which, of course, I already had. However, I think the texts have stopped now. I did try to phone in but that was not a success.

Recent surgery visits!
I speak for my wife as she is not computerised. Over the last three months she has had numerous problems requiring medical assistance, and we have found that the telephone appointment system has been very much improved compared to a couple of years ago, she has had many appointments for treatment at Kingston Crescent, Crookhorn, and Somerstown surgeries, also St Mary’s walk in centre, at all these visits the staff have been very helpful competent, friendly and cheerful, they cannot be faulted.

Very polite and efficient
I came in for a blood test. The nurse was very polite and efficient and put me at my ease. She was able to find a vein straight away and the blood test did not hurt at all. When I asked what exactly the test was for, she answered my questions and explained what some of them were.

I was treated very well
I felt I was treated very well during this visit. The practitioner worked through my problems in a holistic way and answered all my questions and helped me with my condition.
This was a second visit as there was a misunderstanding when I made the original appointment. The practitioner had asked me to get back to him after some tests and I was seen by someone else in spite of asking for the practitioner by name.

I could not be more thankful
My blood pressure had been escalating for a while until one morning it had reached over 200 and I became extremely unwell and very scared. I telephoned at 10.00am and found myself in a much shorter than usual queue and was answered within 10 minutes. I expressed my concern and was offered an appointment with a healthcare assistant at 11.40am. Dorota (the Healthcare Assistant) is very thorough and efficient. She identified the problem almost immediately (a missing medication on my repeat prescriptions) and got a prescription delivered to me by the afternoon. I could not be more thankful!

Appointment
This was a straightforward appointment for 24 hr monitoring of blood pressure, the consequence of which was that the medication was increased. Nothing to complain about and another appointment was made for two weeks time. However this morning I went for another blood test at Cosham Park House with Kirstie Cranston. At last I was listened to and 'cared for'. I explained that I had had a plethora of texts from different sources within the practice but there had been no sign of a holistic approach, and I felt only like a collection of unrelated symptoms. Kirstie was able to let me speak, then went through my notes, including from physiotherapy dept (which I was unable to read on my notes), and we discussed the ongoing appointments and how to co-ordinate the different parts of the practice. I felt valued and heard, and came away feeling positive and grateful. The star system is in relation to the Kingston Cres appt.
