Felt I was rushed during review, was struggling with breathing and as this had been going on for four weeks, also felt I needed something for my mental health as could not stop crying and kept getting palpitations he said he could only deal with one problem so dealt with my breathing and ended up with prescription for 2 pumps. Rung the surgery the following day for appointment for my mental health to be told it was not an emergency and to contact mental health team which I think is terrible because I needed someone to help me that day.

Thank you for your comments. If you are appointed for a specific reason such as COPD/asthma then the appointment time would have been set to be able to cover that area, do a thorough assessment, complete any tests and the required administration. Our clinicians have to make difficult decisions, if they do not have the available time for an additional query, or are not qualified they will signpost to make a further appointment. It is important to understand that we are not always the best option to deal with mental health, if you are in crisis and need immediate help, you will be signposted to the hospital crisis team.
