Very poor communication. After rescheduling on the phone from a member of staff for a diabetic review they had no knowledge of a diabetic review and only offered me a blood test instead.

Excellent service
I have just joined this practice and I am so glad that I did. The reception team are so friendly and helpful. The doctor rang me back really quickly today and explained everything about my condition which was really helpful. He was very friendly and polite. The practice is very nice and clean and well maintained as well. I’m a very happy patient!

Skin problem
I had a small lesion on my scalp and was worried that it might be cancerous. I rang the practice in the morning and although I was no 25 in the queue, it went don quickly and I only had to wait about 5 minutes. An appointment was arranged for that afternoon. The doctor was a little unsure as to the severity of the problem but consulted a senior colleague who agreed it was benign and prescribed an ointment. That was forwarded to my pharmacist and I was able to pick it up later that day. The doctor said she would ring me in two weeks to check progress. That hasn't happened but the condition is much improved.

Appointment with HCA
Had a follow-up appointment with an HCA regarding my high blood pressure. I would like to give a shout out to the very helpful and friendly Receptionist who helped me gain full access to the online booking tool as it appears that I only had partial access. This has helped so much in looking at test results etc. This wasn't the first time this same lady has been really helpful so thank you!

New receptionist
My appointment had been cancelled but as I was near I went into the surgery for some help with another query. The lady on reception was so lovely and helpful. She gave me good advise and helped me how she could. While I was there someone else got very rude to her as they could not get an appointment. I agree with them as the system is rubbish and its so hard to get medical help when needed.
However its not this receptionists fault and she dealt with the angry man very well. I just hope that she does not loose her spirit too soon.

We are really pleased to hear you found our receptionist so lovely and helpful. Unfortunately, we are seeing an increase in rude / aggressive patients attendance which has impacted our recruitment and retention (in the city as well as within the surgery) - although these incidents are still very fortunately in the minority.
Thank you for your comments, we will pass this on to the receptionist who I am sure will find them reassuring. It is absolutely not the receptionist fault if patients find our system tricky to navigate or access difficult; our team
are always very happy to help advise and signpost patients to any services or resources that may help.

During annual review of my medicines I mentioned that I appeared to be having bouts of irregular heart beats when checking pulse, she asked could I make an appointment that afternoon for ecg, on arrival pleasant receptionist checked me in, after sort wait was called and I briefly explained issue, on checking my pulse advised it did appear irregular and would ecg. On completing took it to a doctor and on return advised doctor said was ok and to contact again should I become concerned.
