We have made the difficult decision to change our family GP. After receiving a phone call to inform me my Liver levels were concerning. However this was 6 weeks after a blood test for low folates. 6 weeks with a very painful liver to be told it's serious. That's a missed diagnosis and has shown us how lax our doctors were with our care. We were advised by a health care provider to join East Cliff as they would better help with my and my wife's medical problems such as mental health assistance. Already after our first meeting we were placed at ease with the procedure and are confident these doctors at East Cliff are caring, listening and professional. Very happy with the service so far.

My first contact
I had a need to make an appointment with a practitioner.
The only way to do this was to use the eConsult software.
Although I'm tech savvy, I found this route to be not very satisfactory, because none of the symptoms listed was remotely relevant, as far as I could see.
Once I'd managed (with the help of staff at the East Cliff Practice) to get an appointment, my experience of care from practitioners has been exemplary, with follow up phone calls, msm messages and info on the NHS app.

I met Jolene the nurse for routine testing. She was friendly and explained what was going to happen.

Experience of new appointment system
First of all, I couldn't find the link to the "new" system so used e-consult. Having gone through the endless questions, having to repeat the answers on a few occasions, I get to the end only to be told to phone the surgery. Which I did, to be told I was 7th in the queue. It took ages to get to the Receptionist. I explained that I had completed the e-consult only to be asked exactly the same questions I had entered in the e-consult. I have to say the Receptionist was very helpful. I was eventually awarded a face to face appointment the next day, a great improvement.

I cannot fault the service
I cannot fault the service I have received from Dr Kent. There were suspicions I had something quite serious wrong. I was sent for all the relevant investigations in an extremely timely manner. Fortunately all came back clear. This could have been a different story as the symptoms necessitated the investigations. Luckily it was something much less serious. I worked in the NHS for over 25yrs and have seen it sadly deteriorating over time but in my case and thanks to Dr Kent I cannot fault my care. Many thanks
