Surgery arranged a call after a blood test. No call at estimated time. Two hours later (approx 7pm) call from GP. Informed of abnormal result. Two questions asked about any symptoms, which had not been apparent. GP informed me I may have cancer and would be referred for a scan. Following that announcement I was also informed I would start a new medication, the GP rattled off the regime for taking it and concluded the call by saying if I didn't hear within 2 weeks to contact the hospital.
As a healthcare professional I'm very aware of the time pressures and volume of patients seen each day, but I am extremely disappointed in how this call was conducted. There did not seem to be any interest in me and my health over the last few months, but singular focus on one blood result.
I was left extremely stressed and have had to research my potential diagnosis independently.
I hope this cold approach to patient care is not the norm at Eastcliff.

Miracle, an appointment
After 20 years of cellulitis flareups, I'm a patient expert. Dr B annoyed I had started on clarithromycin. I carry it with GP approval, hard to get urgent appointment, especially when suddenly so ill.

Fab Physio!
Seeing the Physio took over 2 months, as a few weeks before I got a text to say he was unwell, which is fine. We are all human, but to send out a message less than 24 hours before to say if you cancel at short notice we may remove you is just a little wrong! The Physio however is amazing and was well worth the wait!

Telephoned for an appointment in the morning and was seen by the GP the same afternoon The appointments were running late but that didn’t bother me as during my own appointment I didn’t feel rushed. did not have any contact with the lady on reception myself, but listening to her as I sat waiting, she was so up beat and helpful to patients she spoke to. I think she is a credit to your staff.

Fantastic service
The phone call to me was to discuss my mobility etc and to find out if I needed any aids. It was an excellent service, covering all areas of my health & lifestyle. The caller was very friendly and although I didn’t need anything at this moment, made sure I was aware of what to do in the future. Fantastic service, and I will mention it to other people, as I had no idea where my first contact “for things” should be.

Purpose of appointment was to decide on continuation or not of blood pressure prescription since existing prescription was about to run out - which has now come pass, and there is no word either from the doctor I saw or the regular doctor. It is extremely frustrating that East Cliff Practice does not use modern communications, not even email, and does not use the digital appointments system promised on the nhs website.
