Appt with Dr and referral for an X-ray
An appt with a doctor. Very good service with an immediate referral and x-ray carried out at QEQM.
However, a 2 week wait for an initial Dr's appointment was very disappointing.

Appalling time slot management
Handing out 10 min appointment slots when it's obvious average appointments take much longer (one 30 min appointment ruins it for later patients) is disrespectful. Patients have jobs and block out sizable times for appointments because they know there is zero chance of being seen on time. My appointment was running 90 mins over and I had to bale because my job needed me more. The surgery could not arrange a new appointment there as it was full so I'm back to square one to call and arrange one with at least a two week lead time. please arrange more realistic time slots.

I'm sorry to hear that you had a long wait. Sadly there are many clinics going on at once and people seeing different clinicians. Sadly it is inevitable that in any healthcare setting there is going to be delays due to the multi-chronic diseases that some patients have that require attention which I do hope you can understand. Our reception staff are extremely busy behind the front desk dealing with queries and medical issues from the clinical team which must be their priority.

Telephone consultation
I had a follow up appointment with Dr Mash who has kindly taken over my care since my usual GP, Dr Jenny Woodward has been off due to sickness & despite my complex conditions & issues, Dr Mash has taken time, given thought, evaluation & efforts to help me through some of my current issues to prevent me being admitted to hospital so I highly thank & appreciate her kindness. My only slight criticism, which is NOT the fault of Dr Mash, is I'm given an 11.10am appointment but I didn't receive a call until after 7pm which caused a high degree of anxiety for me waiting & waiting but was due to the mechanics of that day for all staff at the practice.

I didn’t have to wait too long on this occasion, which is always good. My nurse, as always, was very pleasant. I was there for a B12 injection so in and out quickly and efficiently.

Face to face appointment
DR Siva had read my notes and knew why I was there. He made a referral to a new service straight away. The only thing that could be improved on, is checking on the order of the referral process. On the website the patient has to fill in a questionnaire & it presumes that will be done before the GPs referral. It then gives you a letter to send to the GP. So I haven’t heard anything and am unsure if the referral has gone through properly.

Hip Pain concern
Required investigation on reasons for hip, knee and leg pain causing sleep disturbances. Dr told me he could only request an X-ray on the hip but the radiologist at QEQM said she would have Xrayed both hip and knee if it had been in the form. All said, I am very happy with my treatment from all professionals involved with this appt.

A very caring GP
Appointment with Dr Ucha was a positive experience. Both myself and husband had appointments and felt "heard", not rushed and a very caring GP.
All in all the experience at this practice has always been good .....GP's and staff have been a pleasure to deal with in sometimes very difficult circumstances
