Nice, polite, knowledgeable and very efficient. I have no complaints of any kind dealing with all staff. That’s from reception, nurses and my current doctor.
Very, very pleased with my whole experience at Martello Health Centre.

Having recently transferred to Martello this was my first experience of trying to obtain a Dr's appointment. I had already heard awful comments about the 8.00am phone fiasco and so decided to try an e-consult. I was surprised to find that even these could only be done during surgery hours. I tried to do one via the NHS app at 8.00am only to get a message to say that the surgery was not accepting any more e-consults today, try again tomorrow! I decided to try one of the other e-consult platforms on the surgery website. This went through and I recieved a message to say that it might be several days before I received a response.
I was very pleased that in about 30min I had a text from the surgery informing me that someone would call during the day. At about midday I had a call from the Dr who was excellent and took time to go through my symptoms and plan a course of action. He asked me to pick up an xray form from reception and to book a face to face appointment with him in 3-4 weeks - the earliest I could get was 6 weeks time.
In summary obtaining a Dr's appointment is difficult and stressful. Having actually spoken to the Dr the system started to work as it should and although I am only at the beginning of a plan, the treatment so far has been excellent.
It shouldn't be that difficult to contact your GP. If in a few clicks I can book an appointment with my optician, dentist, garage, bank, golf club WHY can't I do the same for my Doctor?

It was my third appointment concerning the same issue, as the problem had not righted itself after taking antibiotics. I saw the Nurse and she was very thorough. It was decided I should be referred to a specialist at ENT and she would mark the recommendation as ‘Urgent’. I was very happy with her diagnosis, or at least, that she was able to diagnose. I await a further appointment with ENT.

I phoned up months ago about a problem I have been facing & never got a follow up appointment, I then did an E consult last week asking to speak with a doctor about this problem. On the E consult I asked if I could be contacted after 4pm due to work commitments, anyway, I was phoned around 10am & wasn’t able to answer, I phoned back when I was able to & the receptionist said that maybe the doctor was trying his luck with catching me earlier & said he will try again, I still haven’t heard anything at all & this was over a week ago now. I feel like I’m not being listened to about my health

Problem with medication

On asking for an appointment, they were asking me to wait 3 days to speak with the pharmacy department, on putting my case across they agreed on a call from the clinical nurse, I had to wait till 5 pm, when Holly phoned, who was very good, and agreed I cut my new medicine by half, it was a long day waiting, and had I not insisted on a call i would have had to wait 3 days, feeling extremely unwell

I completed the ANIMA online triage on Tuesday afternoon. I got an acknowledgement on Wednesday to say that I would get a phone call on Thursday. I got a phone call from a doctor on Thursday morning who wanted me to have a blood test. I phoned the surgery and was offered a blood test at 1pm on Thursday afternoon. Thank you for responding to my online request so quickly.

Martello Health Centre - The shingles jab I didn’t need!

The appointment was on time and well handled but turned out to be unnecessary as apparently the shingles vaccine I had already received did not require me to have a second dose. An unnecessary appointment for a not required treatment eating both my time and more importantly the time of the medical professional assigned to the task.

Appointment for blood test and pressure

Making the appointment was no trouble at all. The reception person I spoke to was very polite and exceedingly helpful. The welcome to the surgery was professional and quick and the nurse that did the test and took my blood pressure to the time to talk to me and let me know what was going on. Got an appointment quite easily, lovely receptionist and very helpful. Saw the new lady doctor, what a delight, really helpful and checked absolutely everything. Very kind and made a diagnosis. Given steroid cream, my eye calmed right down after the first application. Thank you.
