NHS is broken
Managed to get online and fill out form telling them about my illness. Then asked what do you want doing? I'm sorry, I'm a mechanic not a doctor, if you broke down I wouldn't expect you to fix the car as I stood and watched. So I asked for a blood test, two weeks later I had it done. So yet again I waited for the results, which I had to look up on the NHS app, no phone call telling me the results, I then tried to work out what could be wrong with me !!!!. This is why the NHS is broken, no communication, no empathy, no human contact, just do the job yourself.

Treatment
I had injections for travel. The nurse was extremely informative and helpful. I was very pleased with my treatment. Initially I tried to change the appointment which was very frustrating because I had to leave a message and have the nurse call me back. We both kept missing each others calls. When I called back it was to the main switchboard which takes a long time and sometimes I was cut off… but the treatment was very good.

Kind and understanding staff
I have a problem with a lesion on my face that doesn’t seem to want to heal. My son has been concerned and encouraged me to contact the surgery, which I did and was lucky enough to be answered by a young lady called Charlie who was very helpful. I was also given an appointment and seen very quickly. Everyone that I came into contact with were extremely helpful and kind.

My visit was good
My visit was a good experience with the nurse, but having to wait 30 mins to speak to a representative regarding speaking to a doctor, I was told I had to visit the app, via link, which I was then sent, it would be better to let people know this, before they wait a length of time, elderly people may not be able to access an app, could be stressful when your feeling unwell.

Rapid response to Econsult
I didn’t think my problem was urgent so didn’t expect to hear for a day or two. Within an hour of submitting my request I had a phone call for an appointment that same morning. Was seen by nurse practitioner then GP and hospital referral made there and then.

A doctor who listens
Thank you to Dr Lobster at Oak Surgery. For her understanding, her skills for listening, to a patient that was desperate to be heard & not another number. She made things happen, by listening & being pro-active. I couldn’t see my own doctor for months. I am glad for the care & support I received from Dr Lobster, thank you. A breath of fresh air & still hope for the NHS, that some still have that hope.
