Never get to see a doctor no matter how hard I try, always an excuse as to why it's not possible, been trying for months, on my own with my mental health I know you won't care about this but I suffer with depression and there was a time I could ring and speak to a doctor that new me but not anymore. So I'm

Thank you for your feedback. With the ever-increasing demands on our services, it is simply not possible or, indeed, appropriate for all our patients to see a GP, particularly for urgent problems. All of our Nurse Practitioners and Paramedic Practitioners are fully clinically trained and supported by an on-site duty doctor if they need any assistance whatsoever.

Thank you for your feedback. We have invested significantly in our telephone system, which attempts to match capacity with patient demand at all times. There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure.

Thorough, efficient
Dr Manning was a lovely caring doctor and this was the first time I had met him, he was very thorough and sorted out my injections quickly and efficiently, many thanks.

The system does not suit the elderly user...
Ok, trying for a second time as my previous comments were rejected as i used too many capital letters and was told i was shouting. my father and I have been with this surgery since it came into being. I was born in 1965 and used the original family gp opposite... initially things were ok, but over time everything has become modernised and not always for the better in our opinion. My 90 yr old father cannot wait on the phone for an hour to make a routine blood appointment, he prefers to go in person or call the surgery direct not a call centre and I agree with him. Seeing an actual gp is like winning the golden ticket! I will not elaborate about our overall opinion about the surgery as it is not very good. The only people that make our lives easier and give service with a smile are the nurses and receptionists, but even the latter tear their hair out at the politics involved.... Likewise, we are finding my father is now at a disadvantage (in our opinion) as the surgery comes under Portsmouth and we have to try and work out who is responsible for his care needs. Not happy.

All of our Nurse Practitioners and Paramedic Practitioners are fully clinically trained and supported by an on-site duty doctor if they need any assistance whatsoever. We cannot make changes that will suit all patients. Although the bulk of our Practice is Portsmouth based, our staff are aware of the facilities available for patients living outside Portsmouth.

Face masks
On the 10th Nov at approx 1pm a lady was let into the surgery by a receptionist who clearly new her as she was greeted with i didn't recognise you. She proceeded to into the building passing me i noticed she wasn't wearing any face covering, having finished whatever she came to do she again passed me and i aske3her why she wasn't wearing a mask she didn't respond so i asked again and again no response she appeared to me to have a smirk and i did say it's not a laughing matter and she left. A receptionist asked me not to raise my voice so i asked her why she hadn't had a mask on and she didn't know. I have phoned Maria and lef a message on the 11th Nov bu as yet no reply.

Crookhorn Lane surgery review
Reception staff very helpful when I have called at the surgery. Doctors non-existent!! Think they have hibernated! Extremely difficult to even speak to a doctor on the phone and no home/surgery visits at all. Drastic improvements need to be made otherwise might as well just use pharmacies in future.

Failed to receive flu jab
I made an appointment for a flu jab, choosing Crookhorn Surgery where Portsdown had appointments. There was no guidance on the website, I believed from government statements that I fell into the second phase, 50-64 from 1st November and it was the responsible thing to do. The nurse informed me that only the most vulnerable were entitled to a flu jab, that didn't include me.

Thank you for your feedback. We vaccinated the most vulnerable cohort of patients initially, and then moved onto the 50-64 when advised to do so by the government.

Vaccine appointment
The actual appointment went very well. When I rang to make it the message on the phone gave me the impression that unless my request was urgent I shouldn’t try and make an appointment. There was no problem once I got through but I could have decided that I wasn’t appropriate and rung off. I think the phone message could be reviewed as the NHS is open .

Flu vaccine
Quick and efficient with friendly staff. It was very difficult trying to telephone the surgery so that I could make an appointment for my 94yr old mother to coincide with my appointment I had made on line and in the end I took the option of repeat medication on the telephone just so that I could talk to someone and the lady who answered was very helpful.

Excellent service and speedy response
I needed an opinion about an ongoing condition and medication. I requested to speak to Dr.Mannings. I received a thorough telephone assessment and successful consultation about my condition and the medication for it. I had prior to this been reviewed with the pharmacist who felt he was unable to diagnose and referred me back to Dr.

A showcase for best practise
I attended the surgery for a flu jab. The reception was extremely well organised with just 4 chairs spaced well apart. I was met at the door, my temperature taken, signed in using the touch screen and seen promptly.
So many people I know complain about their GP practices, but Crookhorn surgery has always been exemplary.
