I have attended the surgery twice in the last week, the first occasion was for a medication review with Dr Manning he decided but based on my chest pain I should attend accident and emergency at QA. I am very grateful for his intervention. The second occasion was merely to have my blood pressure checked Dr Manning happened to be in the office and was able to spend a few moments with me for which I was most grateful. I am fully aware of the demands on doctors and their services and I am most grateful for the time and intervention that Dr Manning Was able to provide me with. Thank you to all concerned.

To have flu jab
Walked in for flu jab on 18th October, also had jabs for Tetanus and MMR, in and out within 10 minutes.
Good service, but to be fair there was no-one else in the waiting room.

Recent Appointment
Getting through on phone lines for emergency is very difficult, I got engaged tone which repeatedly rang off, so I went into the surgery hence I got a slot later, bypassing the phone, but that’s biased towards those who lives nearby and have a car. The doctor was excellent with me, I was seen promptly. I Would only recommend others to join this surgery if this issue is fixed

Thank you for your feedback. We have invested significantly in our telephone system, which attempts to match capacity with patient demand at all times. There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure.

Vaccinations
Well I brought my wife to the surgery for her to receive her flu jab and was told that not only I was due one but also tetanus, pneumonia and mmr. So beware.
Seriously though, very good. The surgery staff are extremely helpful and considerate.

I had to wait a while to get the test but when I arrived at the surgery, it was straightforward to book in using the machine . I did not have to wait long and the person taking the blood was friendly and professional.

After 1 hour of trying to get through to the surgery on the group practice number for an urgent appointment, I resorted to go to the general enquiries number which answered quickly. After a bit of discussion it was agreed to let me have a telephone call back. I did then receive a call back very quickly and received an immediate appointment.

Bit of a wait 30 in queue but managed to get an emergency appointment and was seen by a fantastic doctor who sorted out and more every question and sorted out problems with top class results saving a trip to the hospital. Many thanks.

Review of new medication prescribed.
On ringing the surgery for a routine appointment I was able to get an appointment for the following week without any trouble. The GP I saw was very thorough in reviewing whether I was on the right medication and answered all my questions fully, he appeared interested in what I had to say and couldn’t have been more helpful. I have been with the Crookhorn surgery for many years and have always been happy with the service they provide.
