Dr was thorough and attentive. Getting an appointment via phone is very difficult. Waiting 2 weeks for a blood test following the initial appointment is too long.

I went to see my Doctor because I haven’t been able to hear properly and wanted a referral to St Mary’s. The Doctor looked in my ear and it had quite a bit of wax in it. I was told ears were not syringed any more but she has written to St Mary’s for an app to have my ears unblocked and for app to have my hearing checked.

Thorough, efficient and not rushing

I was seen within 5 minutes of my appointment time. The doctor was thorough, efficient and not rushing. He listened to my questions.
He made a diagnosis and prescribed medication which has cured the problem which has been bothering me for months and a previous doctor had been unable to help a few weeks ago

My appointments with Pam for my B12 Injections every 8 weeks. She is lovely efficient and makes you feel at ease. Highly recommend this Surgery. Doctors referrals are quick to the hospitals which is a service I have required over the last 10 months for breast check and osteoporosis diagnosis and a prolapse. Amazing practice.

I attended the surgery to order a repeat prescription and while I was there I was informed by the receptionist that I was due a tetanus booster and a BP check as well as a telephone medication review. This was really helpful and I appreciated the receptionist updating me on these. All staff were very professional and appointments were booked for a convenient time. I have noticed the improvements in availability of appointments and appreciate the work that has gone into responding to patient needs.

Good doctor, difficult to access

The medical secretaries recommend using the online booking system, but cannot use it themselves. I am almost entirely unable to speak privately over the phone during the day, which makes access to healthcare more stressful, during an already difficult time.

I have only been able to get an appointment to see a Dr if I use the triage service. This appears to work fine but once told to book a further appointment this system of only being able to book 1 week in advance fails miserably.
There are NEVER any appointments to see a doctor online, the reception staff cannot book an appointment until after 10am for 1 week hence even when I have left the surgery with instruction from the doctor to do so.
I also work with patients and cannot phone at 10am as I am dealing with them. We book their appointments as required at a time that suits them. This surgery doesn't! I also think (like another reviewer) that these restrictions only suit non-workers.

The number of times I called the out of hours number was over 15 before finally connecting. I started at 8am and didn't get connected to the queue until 8:30am. As a result I had to take a day sick from work.

There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure.

Trying to get appointment.

I had six weeks holiday and during that time I tried and tried to get an appointment. Eventually I spoke to a Doctor on the phone, he suggested I need to get an appointment for Physio. When I rang to get this appointment, I was number 27 in line. I held on until I spoke to someone, I was then told that as it was gone 11am I had missed the dead line and would have to try again the following day. I said when I first picked up the phone it was long before 11am but because of being no. 27 I had to hang on until I got to number 1. The phone went dead on me! How rude.
