I would just like to say a very big thank you to the Doctor and all staff connected to the issue I had. Prior to going to the surgery I was very worried of the condition I had. Recent Appointment
My blood pressure was still a little high, so the doctor recommended that I take Ramipril 2.5 mg. and gave me a prescription for the chemist. When I collected the capsules the chemist said to take one 5 minutes before bed as they are very strong and have side effects. I took one capsule, and 3 hours later I was in the toilet with stomach pains which lasted for a couple of hours, them I had burning sensations in my lower limbs and bad headaches. Suffice to say I have not taken any more of those capsules and gone back on my normal tablets.

Seen before Appointment Time!
Very efficient, signed in electronically (so easy!) called in to see the nurse for B12 injection and was out before my appointment time!! Lady on Reception also very friendly when I had seen a notice about Flu Injections, she hurriedly explained it was last years and took it down immediately!!

Laryngitis
I was given an urgent morning appointment and saw the Nurse Practitioner. I was diagnosed with Viral Laryngitis so didn't receive antibiotics. I was advised to rest my voice and use a gargle to ease throat.

Thank you for your feedback. With the ever-increasing demands on our services, it is simply not possible or, indeed, appropriate for all our patients to see a GP, particularly for urgent problems. All of our Nurse Practitioners and Paramedic Practitioners are fully clinically trained and supported by an on-site duty doctor if they need any assistance whatsoever.

Difficulty in getting a doctor’s appointment: I find it very frustrating trying to get a doctor’s appointments and the reception ladies trying to decipher who to and who not to see the doctor. Most annoying is the ladies asking patients what the matter is. Are they doctors and why should I be sharing or disclosing my health issues with someone that is not a health professional? I find that intrusive.

A PSA Blood test was booked following a visit to the Crookhorn Surgery. On the selected date and time the test was carried out by the Practice Nurse who I had never met before. She immediately put me at my ease and carried out the test without fuss.
