I am still very disappointed with the huge effort required to actually - not see a GP - but speak to one. This took me about a week, and then it was only the receptionist doing something she shouldn't really be doing to get me in. I call on the phone at 8am or 10am, and end up 25th in queue and get no-where, try the E-consult - 'Wait until tomorrow morning' the message states, ten it says the same for days, Systemonline - never any appointments on that. Why can I not just phone and get an appointment.
I have to work, and spending so much time on the phone and on-line trying to get an appointment is just not sustainable. We have ALL been through the pandemic, but it seems not all are willing to return to how it was! Very disappointing on the service trying to get an appointment. I wish I could remember what my GP looked like!

Thank you for your feedback. Access to Primary Care is difficult, however this is something that we monitor and review constantly to maximise the limited resources we have available. We are moving with the times and offer different ways for patients to access our clinicians, often patients prefer to complete an eConsults, where other prefer to telephone. It is important to understand that we do have face to face to appointments with clinicians, even throughout the pandemic, but often this is a patient want, rather than a clinical need, although we will increase the number available as and when we can.

As a regular blood donor, I am used to giving blood (over 100 donations) and having blood tests. So I was shocked to have bled profusely after my blood test soaking my shirt sleeve and having to return to the clinic to staunch the flow.

Given the huge strain on the surgery at the moment, with all the staff shortages and extra workload, I think the staff at the surgery are fantastic.

I really don't like going to the doctor's surgery anymore. I'm always made to feel like I'm not all that important. There's other stuff they could be doing rather than making sure the patient is ok. Always rushed and most of the staff are rude.

Getting an appointment is almost impossible to speak/see a doctor. Firstly, you have to keep ringing and ringing to get through as the phone is always engaged and then after waiting on the phone for half an hour or more, I am told that there are no more appointments for that day and that I have to either call tomorrow or do an E-consult which is not always easy. This whole process is extremely depressing and I have been in tears just trying to get through to the doctor. Another issue is that you can only certain times in the day and I do not know when to call. For example, I have just tried to call the enquiry line only to be told by an automatic voice recording that the enquiry line opens at 2pm. This is absolute madness! You just can not speak to anyone. Staff are very polite and understaning but the system does not work.

Thank you for your feedback. To ensure that we maximise the limited resources available to us, we ask patients who require urgent assistance to call at 8am. For those who require a routine appointment to contact from 10am. From 2pm the telephones reopen after lunch. We also offer eConsults for patients who have on-line access.
