I was pleased that an appointment for a meeting with a Doctor was given fairly quickly, and a letter from St. Mary's hospital was given in a few days. I go to the hospital tomorrow morning for someone to look at it.

This doctor I saw was amazingly thorough. Helpful she listened to everything that had happened was so pro active. I am now getting treatment, I cant believe how different a surgery can be.. and just to add the receptionist was polite and very helpful wow great surgery.

Gone are the days when you see the same doctor. You seem to have to go over things every time. I understand the reasons they are going through. Why does it seem there are less doctors at Crookhorn.

Rude call handlers

The staff who work for the Portsdown Group call centre are unprofessional and rude. I called 2 different lines to try and ask for help, to which one told me the line I want isn’t available and they can’t do anything. And another line told me my prescription was not an emergency and it was my fault I had not put in for a prescription earlier when I couldn’t due to having to self isolate. I was spoken to with such disrespect. I will be moving doctors with immediate effect

Thank you for your feedback. It is important that patients choose the correct telephone line when calling the contact centre, this is to ensure that you queries are dealt with effectively and by those in the correct department. Receiving your prescription on time is also your responsibility, we have a strict list of medications that are urgent and are issued the same day, these are medications that patients cannot be without, therefore it is important that requests are put in early enough to be processed. Although we understand that patients often have reasons for late requests, we cannot be held responsible for this.

I've had the same problem for 4 years and nothing seems to be progressing. No diagnosis, no referral, no medication which is helping. I get told I have symptoms but nothing is wrong with me?! How can nothing be wrong with me when I have fluid of whatever sort going down my throat causing the burning sensation & it also makes me sick. No one wants to properly listen to help reduce my symptoms or referral me for a second opinion.

We understand that it is frustrating when you have on-going issues, however it is not always possible to find a diagnosis, however our clinicians will continue to make every effort to ensure that everything is tried to seek a diagnosis. It is important that patients understand that often it is difficult to refer, as their are strict guidelines for a referral to be met and often advice and guidance is gained as an alternative from Secondary care.
