It took ages for me to get an appointment and be seen on this occasion. Many failed attempts at either getting through, or obtaining an appointment, use of the eConsult form in the end, created a lot of frustration. Patients using the eConsult need to be given more honest detail about timescales. I was initially given, by text, a two day wait time with an actual date and time I would be contacted by. When no call was received, I had the exasperation of trying to get through to speak to someone which took a few attempts. Only then was I told that text message 'is a standard text, that cannot be changed' and that the wait time was up to a week!!! I do not feel this if fair to patients that they are not made aware, especially when you are expecting a call within two days and literally keep your phone on and nearby at all times, so you dare not miss the call! I was finally seen today, which I am grateful for, but I do not feel the current system for patients works at all well and especially not the eConsult form! So sadly, on this occasion, I was not happy with the level of patient service I received.

Service at Crookhorn Surgery
Every single member of the team at Crookhorn give great service. In difficult times my experience has been fantastic every time I have need help. Maybe not the same as pre covid but actually the current service suits me much better. Instant help on the phone and a doctor as soon as you really need one. Seeing a doctor is not always the best possible solution the nurses are great as are all reception staff.

I have been pleased to receive phone calls in recent months from the asthma nurse after my asthma went out of control in February. As a result I am now on new medication which appears to control my asthma and have had a chest x-ray and call from the asthma nurse subsequently.
