Professional service. Very friendly Nurse and HCA who put me at ease during my 2 separate appointments. Impressed with how quick I was able to obtain an appointment during the pandemic. The receptionist who made my appointments was also very friendly and polite.

The E consultation and follow up system for knee review & treatment

The E consult form submitted & had phone call with Doctor within 72hrs, followed up with appointment to visit more specialist Doctor at Kingston Road Surgery 5days later, then subsequent physio assessment to be carried out at St Marys Hospital arranged for 12 days later with follow on treatment TBA. Cannot fault the system - excellent service.

I e mailed Crookhorn surgery on Friday 26th February. A receptionist rang me on Monday 1st March to say the doctor would ring me on Wednesday 3rd March after 2pm . Dr Mannings did ring me and asked me some questions. He was very pleasant and efficient. He had a prescription sent to the pharmacy straight away and l was able to pick it up that day .

Awful booking system

Getting an appointment here is rarer than gnats teeth.
Telephone lines give long boring and pointless messages before cutting you of.
My latest attempt to get an appointment for my covid jabs wasted over an hour of my time spaced over 2 days before giving up and booking through the NHS website. I now have a total round trip journey of over 20 miles instead of 1.5 miles.
I have tried and failed so many times to see a doctor but can rarely get through. On the rare occasion I can get through, all i can get is a telephone app.
I'm beginning to believe that there are no real doctors here anymore.
I,m disabled and constantly in pain, have spent many weeks in hospital over the last 4 years and feel like my surgery couldn't care less.

Thank you for your feedback. We are constantly looking at ways of improving access to our patients, at a challenging time for the NHS in general and for Primary Care in particular. We are telephoning patients, sending texts asking patients to call us and also letters. We are sorry that you had difficulties making your vaccination appointment, we would like to assure you that we are prioritising staff to make these appointments, however sometimes you do need to persevere until you can get through or are called directly. It is of course your choice if you choose to get vaccinated elsewhere rather than waiting. With regards to seeing a GP, with the ever-increasing demands on our services, it is simply not possible or, indeed, appropriate for all our patients to see a GP, and all patients are assessed vie telephone triage first, as often a face to face appointment is not required. We would like to assure you that we do care but can only work with the limited resources we have available.

Monthly injection of degarelix (Firmagon).

Appointment was at 1400. I arrived at about 1345, was able to park, was seen into the surgery (n.b. first time without temperature check), registered my arrival (Does the machine have to say "You have been arrived"? "Arrive" is an active verb, not a passive. How about "Your arrival has been registered.") Appt was on time. Injection was given v gradually. This still results in a sore hard lump which lasts about 5 days, but fast injection is not good. I also asked the nurse to look at a rash on my lower back. I'm now putting betnovate on it.

For the first time ever, a nurse was able to take blood, first time, no pain and no bruising. I usually have blood taken from hand as arms don't give, but nurse found vein in arm with no problems. Brilliant!
