I've been meaning to write this for a while, but I just want to say how efficient and awesome the medical Secretary was. I needed something urgently and she acted like I was such a priority and followed up with everything she said she would do. I haven't been in the practice, but the service I received over the phone was incredible. Honestly, thank you!

Very happy
This visit, essentially for a swelling in the neck, also turned into an investigation of a persistent and ongoing cold/cough. The doctor sent me for an X-ray and has sent a request for an ultra sound investigation. I'm very happy about the treatment that was prescribed.

Fiona is a star!
Fiona is absolutely amazing! She made my little one (who has a very bad fear of drs!) feel more at ease. She did cry having her injections but was absolutely fine after and was high fiving Fiona too! Honestly, couldn't ask for a better nurse!

GP visit
The GP I saw was caring and understanding but unfortunately did not sign my prescription so I had to go back to the surgery to get it signed. When I first visited the reception staff were friendly and welcoming but the afternoon reception staff were the complete opposite. They don’t seem interested, yawning and generally had a can’t be bothered attitude. I had to wait a long time for the prescription to be signed as they kept forgetting to see the doctor inbetween patients. They did not apologise when I asked if it will be much longer. By this point I was really starting to feel poorly and just wanted to go home.

My recent experience with St James
I had to wait 3 months to speak to a doctor to get meds that you had given me originally? And still not on repeat? And the doctor wasn’t even one of your surgeries, he was a Locum, with no idea why he was calling. Overall not a good experience!

I have spoken to the medical secretaries twice in the 8 days that my referral request has been in the email system. Each time the ladies have been more than helpful. It would seem the hold up is with the doctor actioning the email request.

Good luck getting an appointment!
It seems its no longer possible to ring up and make an appointment. You have fill in a long repetitive daft form which gets rejected if they think you've made a mistake. Complaining is pointless too. They just ignore your emails and tell untruths about people calling you back. You are a number I'm afraid, with only lip service paid to patient care
