Health check. Nurses at the surgery.
Over the years I have had a lot of visits to the nurses some good and some bad but over the last 6 years every one of the nurses have been so kind to me.
They are a great team and I include the lovely pharmacist in this.

Face to face appointment
Receptionist helpful, made appointment, saw Dr, need further treatment. Receptionist called backed with clinic appointment date and time, text confirmation very efficient. Great service.

You're amazing
Fiona has been my nurse for my zoladex treatment since December 2023. She is very patient with me as she understands my fear of injections. I never feel rushed plus she knows how to keep me calm. She's indeed a fantastic nurse. Thank you for all you do, you're amazing!

St James' Surgery
I have had more help in the last few months at St James than I ever had at my previous surgery - the receptionists are helpful - the doctors ring when they say and as I am struggling with my mental health, Shwan has been very helpful.

The doctor never saw any patients for over half an hour. Only 3 people in the surgery. I was waiting over half an hour past my appointment time.

I'm sorry to hear that you wasn't seen at the agreed appointment time. There are occasions in which our clinicians may overrun this could be due to a complex issue or an emergency both of which cannot be avoided.
It can appear that there are not many patients in the surgery however we offer a variety of appointments including face to face and telephone to accommodate all preferences.

Disappointed
Once I got a GP appt the service was very good.
However I rang on a midweek day at 8am, was 11th in the queue & when they finally answered I was told they did not have an appt available for my 8 year old son.
That means that there was less than 11appts available that day, even considering it was a child.
I rang 111, & they decided we should have a GP appt, & so scheduled they one with my GP - and within an hour.

I filled in the Econsult form online, within 10 minutes of sending it, the surgery called offering me an appointment, excellent service from start to finish, I’ve used the online form twice in the last few weeks and find it easy to fill in and staff and doctors are very helpful and friendly.

Following recent major surgery secondary complications presented. From helpful reception providing rapid triage I saw Dr Holwerda the same morning with effective diagnosis and understanding. Very lucky indeed to be with this surgery. Thank you all.

Blood test
Appointment was on time, check in easy with a friendly receptionist, blood test done efficiently (has sometimes been tricky getting my blood out for previous blood tests but she had no problems at all) by a friendly nurse who explained the reason for the blood test and when the result would be likely to be received by the surgery. The only thing I would say is that when I first got the text message asking me to make an appointment, the date it advised me to make the appointment for was a Saturday, but this was quickly resolved by the receptionist when I called to make the appointment, so not a big issue at all.
