Staff training required

Failed to draw blood after 2 attempts, sent me to Saint Mary’s hospital for a walk in blood test. Saint Mary’s is now appointment only and they had none available. Wasted day, lost money at work.

If blood cannot be gained in 2 attempts that you will either be advised to make or new appointment or will be referred to St Mary's, however, the change to appointment only should have been noted, to avoid your wasted time. We have shared this information with our team and will ensure that this does not happen going forward.

My review

It was a medical for renewal of my D1 Licence. That being said the eye examination was done while visiting Vision Express the week before & I have to be honest, the only thing tested was my urine sample; the rest of the form was done from my medical records & I consider it was very expensive for 15 minutes & what was actually done. ( £170 ) ( £680 ) an hour, no wonder you can get an appointment very quickly but if you try to get a normal appointment it can take weeks

Thank you for your feedback. Non NHS work is not prioritised, although we aim to complete within 30 days of receipt of payment. You can choose to go to an alternative provider if you would prefer. Please note the charge is for the time of the GP this includes the consultation and any other administration time to complete the forms that may fall outside of the consultation itself. The charges are reviewed annually and reflect fairly the work that is required.

Doctor requires more training/care

After attending Cosham House instead of my normal GP, I have been left prescribed yet more pills which I don’t want and due to his lack of care/roughness, I’ve now had a bad haemorrhoid for almost 4weeks. Doctors need to be retrained on prostate exams so that they don’t cause yet more issues.
