Thank you for your feedback. We really do try not to cancel appointments and if we do where possible we will rebook and text through the new date, however when this is not possible we will ask for the patient to rebook at their convenience.

This is a review for Crookhorn Surgery

I needed to book a routine telephone consultation with a doctor about a non urgent matter. I found out from the surgery website, the number I had to call and the time of day I had to do it - 10am. I called at 10.01am, and after listening to all the recorded messages about which option I should choose, I was surprised to be told that I was number 54 in the queue! Because I thought it would be a lengthy wait, I then decided to opt for the call back service. After a further 25 minutes the receptionist called me back and was very helpful in finding a suitable time for me to have the telephone consultation I need with a doctor. It’s going to be this Wednesday 15/01 at 7pm. The main difficulty I have with making any appointments is being able to get one at a suitable time for me. This is because I am a regular night shift worker and I’m usually asleep every daytime Tuesday through to Saturday.

We are an appointment led service and to maximise the access to our patients our model does require contact at 10.00am to book a routine appointment if you contact later in the day it is likely that the appointments would not be available. We do understand that for some this is not the prefer time, however we do not have a solution that will be agreeable to all patients.

The nurses that take the blood need to go back to training and learn how to take blood from persons with fine/narrow veins. They think you are a pin cushion even after telling them to use small needles they don’t listen nor do they have empathy or the simple decency to ask questions.
