Support, kindness and understanding

This is a review for Paulsgrove Surgery

I can not tell you how good attending Shlomo’s social prescriber sessions have been. I was really quite low in mood before seeing him he is very motivational and his words stay with me and have helped me make so many positive decisions and when I thought I really couldn’t do more he helped me to see there was so much more I could do. I have grown in confidence in making my own goals. I still have a way to go I feel and need further help to continue to improve my life habits. But his support, kindness and understanding has been incredible, his non judgmental manner and gentle understanding is the only reason I am now doing what I am. This is such a great service! Thank you.

Took 2 days to get an appointment which I was told 2 times on the phone that it was an emergency but there were no appointments available at the time of calling. I was then told by the GP that I should go home and self medicate for another 2 weeks, or pay £80 to see a specialist as the GP didn't cover the treatment I required.

I am sorry that it took 2 days for your to gain an appointment, it is well publicised that access is difficult in Primary care and we do prioritise access to all of our patients. General Practitioners (GPs) will often have their own area of expertise, however as in their title they often need to signpost to a specialist when required.

In an ideal world a blood test would be offered the same time, however it is not efficient to have a clinician available and not appointment in case there is a need for a blood test to be taken. There are walk in appointments available at St Marys if patient prefer not to wait for a Practice appointment.
