I think the practice gives good service even if they are under pressure. The problem is booking an appointment with a doctor let alone with your designated GP.

I think the surgery gives a good service not withstanding they are under pressure. The problem is booking an appointment with a doctor.

Well trained and understanding staff

I also attended Somerstown Hub on Thursday 1st August, so I would like to show appreciation to both of the staff I saw.
On Thursday I had a Well Woman appointment, with a very well trained and understanding member of staff.
On Friday, I experienced the same level of care at Kingston Crescent.

I called in on the 'off Chance' for two immunisation jabs, I was seen immediately. And also discussed a current medical crisis, this was dealt with straightaway with no fuss, I have only been with the surgery for 6days.My previous Doctor would not help with my request for urgent assistance or talk to me ,likewise the hospital. So thank you Portsdown practice, the receptionist was professional and helpful, and the Doctor restored my faith in good old fashioned patient care. Thank you for keeping up the standards the National health service was based on in a time of under investment in health care. Regards Tony Gisby.

Appalling. Both my husband and I ordered our repeat prescriptions 3 weeks ago to ensure we have our medication. This method forces patients to ease the ‘over worked GP ‘s’. When we tried then to collect the prescriptions mine was there but not my husband's. We were told that we needed to go back to the surgery but when we got there they told us to go back to the chemist. What ever and who ever responsibly it is NO ONE seems to care. This is not the first time this has happened and I am assuming it won’t be the last. This surgery is a joke and does not care about the patients.

This is a review for Somerstown Surgery

Blood tests. The visit to the surgery was excellent. However, I had not been to see anyone about anything that needed a blood test recently, so I was puzzled to receive a text saying we would like you to do fasting blood tests. I had to phone up to find out why I had received this text and was worried it was for someone who really did need tests. I was told that some time ago (15 years from memory) my sugar level was a little high. Any blood tests since have not been about this and were all fine. Please be more discerning.
