ECG check

This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery

During annual review of my medicines I mentioned that I appeared to be having bouts of irregular heart beats when checking pulse, she asked could I make an appointment that afternoon for ecg, on arrival pleasant receptionist checked me in, after sort wait was called and I briefly explained issue, on checking my pulse advised it did appear irregular and would ecg. On completing took it to a doctor and on return advised doctor said was ok and to contact again should I become concerned.

The actual appointment was just fine. The lady who took my blood was very friendly and professional.
However, the original appointment was for a blood pressure check requested by you. When I re-arranged this appointment the blood test was added to the appointment again at your request. The phlebotomist was not able to take my blood pressure and I was sent to use the “pod”. I don’t think this was either accurate or satisfactory as the results were not easy to obtain and at 135/36 a little strange. I’m not even sure if the results were submitted to the system!

Obviously we are happy to hear your appointment was fine. We have recently employed phlebotomists to be able to offer more blood test (BT) appointments in good time. They can only take bloods. It may be that the appointment was rearranged from a HCA (who can do both Blood Tests and Blood Pressures) into a Phlebotomist appointment, and this was not picked up, which we apologise for. We agree that the blood pressure result you have reported does seem odd. if you'd like to contact us we can arrange another appointment for you to have it checked in consultation. Please be assured the waiting room pods are connected to our clinical system, so when you confirmed your identity, the result would be automatically added to your record. This should be picked up on regular searches but again, we are happy to look into this for you if you can call 023 9262 7765 to provide some information.

First Class Service

My experience was first class in every way.
The Nurse Practitioner was professional, kind and caring.
She explained everything well, was gentle and took her time.
She made a very difficult procedure much more tolerable than I had anticipated, I felt very fortunate to be treated by her.
