Gave me all my options

This is a review for Somerstown Surgery

The Doctor was patient, listened to everything I had to say and gave me all my options. I left with a clear plan of treatment. Reception staff very efficient and couldn't do enough when making test appointments.

The lady who did my blood test as always was lovely, polite and well informed, advised me to go to reception to make my flu jab appointment which I did and as usual the receptionist was more interested in me doing it on line, which for this practice is never a simple task. Begrudgingly an appointment was made. Receptionists at this practice need training in customer service, the standard is poor.

Online appointment booking is available for a number of appointment types and we encourage patients to become familiar - however if you are in attendance at one of our sites, they will be happy to book. Recent appointment

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

On the whole the service I received was excellent, except for the reception. The receptionist had to keep disappearing on an enquiry or to chase something so the two times I needed assistance there was a wait of 3 or 4 people. 1 was frail elderly man, another was a disabled man. This must have been very stressful and frustrating for them. Quite some time was wasted here for many of us.

Many thanks for your feedback. Our reception team are there to support patients. We endeavour to make digital access simple, but for those patients that do not have access they can come to reception. These enquiries may well need the receptionist to come away from the desk to seek colleague assistance or check for paperwork. In peak times we endeavour to have more than one receptionist available to manage the flow of patients, but it can be unavoidable at times, depending on the nature of the patient's request.

Respiratory nurse was lovely

This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery

A very good experience, respiratory nurse was lovely explaining everything step by step, until we hit a slight bump in the process, then explained what had happened and the next steps that we had to do, am still waiting on that one step to complete the respiratory process, but not the respiratory nurse’s fault.
Am waiting on hospital appointment.

Attempt to get an appointment

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

Tried to get an emergency appointment as my face and ear were swollen and was told by 111 to call my surgery back as I needed to be seen within 2 hours. Called back again after waiting 20 minutes in line, to be told by rude, aggressive reception staff thot they have no appointments and aren’t interest in what 111 has told me. Told to ring 111 back.

Thank you for your feedback and sorry to hear you have had issues with contact. There is a local Clinical Assessment Service (CAS) and any calls to 111 where the outcome is that a patient requires contact within 12 hours should be automatically sent to this citywide service. We have identified an issue in the 111 configuration that means this is not happening as it should be and are trying to address it with them through our Alliance.

Please do try the surgery before calling 111. Please call at 8am for on the day medical emergencies. We are an appointment led service and when we hit capacity we would have to signpost or advise regardless of the route. 111 have access to the CAS for additional capacity.

If you considered the call handler to be rude then please do write to [email protected] with the details of your call, the mobile or landline number you were using, and the time/date. All our calls are recorded and we will be able to retrieve the call to address any learning.

Talking Change Triage.

This review is purely based on the talking change triage appointment I had. I have been struggling with depression and think I've been experiencing post-natal depression.
Was given a triage appointment over the phone. During the triage telephone call appointment, I did not feel like I was taken very seriously at all. The person I spoke to laughed throughout the conversation and even shared their personal opinion on one of the mandatory questions to ask - and said that they thought it was funny. I ended up feeling that perhaps having a bad counselor is worse than having no counsellor at all.
