Enquired about having my shingles vaccination now that I am 70. Was informed by the receptionist and HCA (after my B12 routine jab) that I would need to go to Cosham Park House Surgery as they provided a "walk in" facility. Visited CPH on 10.02.2023 and was told - "This is not a walk in facility.. you should not have been told this!". Was informed that I would to wait for a formal invitation in order to book jab - which may take 3-4 months!

All I want is my Shingles vaccination for protection now that I am eligible.

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry you were given conflicting information. We have passed this onto the Cosham and Paulsgrove Surgery Team Leader to ensure all staff provide consistent messaging.

Unfortunately, the national comms do highlight that patients are eligible from Aged 70 to 79. Unfortunately, we are given eligibility criteria with date of birth ranges with does cause discrepancy. Current eligible patients are born between 1/9/44 and 1/4/52.

If you fall within this criteria then please do contact the Complaints team on 023 9262 7765. Otherwise, if you have only recently turned 70, please be assured that you will likely be contacted in early April.

If you are worried that you may miss out on the shingles vaccination, contact your GP surgery to arrange an appointment to have the vaccine.

Kingston Crescent was amazing!

After a few hiccups with online services, I went into my doctor's surgery at Kingston Crescent to ask for help. Receptionist Sue went above and beyond to deliver a kind and caring service, nothing was too much for her and I genuinely felt looked after. Very much appreciated when you're not feeling great. Blood pressure to be fitted

I waited 20 minutes before my appointment, the nurse was very nice but had trouble fitting the kit to my arm and when she did it didn't work so went back to see her again, I told reception that I needed to see her again, I waited 1hr & 35 minutes, in the end I removed the kit then the nurse came out said she had forgotten me and had gone to lunch. Then I was told by a sister at a hospital that it had been fitted upside down so I still have not had my blood pressure monitored.

Waiting beyond a few minutes for a scheduled appointment is rare, but it can happen, particularly if a patient is very unwell. We do apologise for any inconvenience. Again, if the HCA is fully booked then it is hard tricky to fit patients in - however it is unacceptable that this was not communicated to you and you were left waiting without updates. We will forward this to the Nursing Lead for follow up.

High blood pressure check
