Cosham Park House Surgery

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

Had a follow up routine blood test after leaving hospital. Expressed my concerns at how the hospital didn’t deal with my emergency according to my condition which caused another issue. The nurse wrote it on my notes and the doctor called me before I even left the room to discuss it.
Sorted something out for me to take next time this happens so I won’t be waiting around.

Appointment

This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery

I came into the doctor's twice. First time to arrange a smear which went really well. Wasn't painful whatsoever and the nurse was extremely professional and friendly which made me feel at ease straight away, that's why l tapped good. The 2nd thing l needed was an appointment for my mum. She's 83 had had had a really bad fall outside down sultan rd. She was seen by ambulance crew in their ambulance for 45 mins and taken home. She wanted to be checked out by a doctor as had 2 huge black eyes one couldn't open, an extremely bruised face all over, swollen nose but the other 2 more concerning thing's she needed checking was a massive bump sticking out of her forehead above her eye and a sore wrist. She tried calling your doctor's every day and was told no appointments were available. I took her to QA where she was told she had fractured her hand and needed a face x-ray. I wasn't impressed that your doctor's wouldn't even help her or see her so for that l think your doctor's are extremely poor.

A short health check - easily planned and didn't need to wait long, weight taken and a few bloods, all good and efficient. No major advice given so a very basic health check but still reassuring.

This is a review for Somerstown Surgery

I recently booked myself in for a blood test after having experienced certain symptoms. On arrival to the practice, I was told I needed a bloods form which I was not made aware of while booking in on the NHS app. I therefore asked the receptionist if she could book me in with a doctor to have my bloods done, but also with a nurse for an "invite only" overdue, cervical cancer screening AND with a nurse to discuss the contraceptive pill. I was directed to online bookings/consultations, and having keyed in my relevant symptoms I was advised to go to A&E.

Thank you for taking time to share your experience. We are very sorry that your journey with us was not smooth. I have passed your feedback onto our Business Intelligence team to see if we can put some information on the online service to inform patients that blood tests should be booked after invitation / advice from a clinician (as that would mean a blood form has been generated). We are limited in what we can put on the online system, but we hope this may prevent unnecessary time wasting or confusion in the future, so thank you for brining this to our attention.

You can book smears online, it is usually the preferred way as is at your convenience. eConsult is also how we manage contraceptive review. Reception can book smear appointments if you have been invited however we do have limited capacity at present so you would have been advised to go online for when they are released. The eConsult is designed to have 'red flag' safety net - which means if you put something in that would be of concern, it will direct you accordingly. That could be for urgent triage, or attendance at A&E and that is for patient safety as eConsult is not an urgent service. We do hope your symptoms are resolving.

Lovely and helpful

The quickness of getting me in when I phoned emergency line. Trying to get through was not possible for the first hour and half kept telling me to call back but once through it was quick. Nurse was lovely and helpful.
