Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear you were admitted to hospital. On occasion, patients may ring in for an urgent appointment and be told that they should attend hospital. We also appreciate that as an appointment led service, whilst our urgent line is open 8am - 5.30pm (closed 1-2pm for emergencies only) we are unable to guarantee appointments for all, particularly later in the day - though we do have morning and afternoon lists and offer telephone advice wherever possible, to maximise our capacity.

When I arrived at the surgery I was unaware of the on-screen booking service and went straight to reception. They asked if they could help and I explained I had an appointment. I was asked if I had booked in using the screen, which I then did. I was seen promptly by the nurse who was efficient, professional and polite throughout. I don't have access to the internet and find it difficult to get through to the surgery by telephone.

It was dealt with very quickly and nurse was excellent and friendly, only critique I have is when going back to reception I couldnt make a dr appointment which I need, was told to the phone which is ridiculous when you are standing in surgery.

Thank you for your feedback and kind comments about our nursing staff.

We do ask that those patients who can, call us to book an appointment. This is to ensure fair and equitable provision and allocation of appointments. GP appointments are also in high demand so it is may have also been the case that there were none available when you enquired. They are released daily at 10am on the phones, and 10am / 7pm online.

The phone lines are not always great yet you go into the surgery and they sitting in reception chatting about lifestyles which I have witnessed and ask why no one picking up phone you are waiting god knows how long..

Thanks for your 4 star review. We regularly review our phone data. We are also reviewing the entire system. Whilst we answer thousands of calls a month, it is pleasing to see that our abandonment rates and call wait times are reducing. Obviously there are 'peak' times when the phone line is busier, however we do endeavour to increase resource at this time to minimise the impact.

You won't see our receptionists answering the phones as we have a dedicated contact centre based at our Cosham Park Surgery. We have had this in place since 2017, and, in the main, it has greatly improved consistency and call times across the practice. Our reception team are there to support patients attending the surgery and attend to various, necessary admin tasks. Whilst we accept that most people 'chat' whilst still getting on with their work, it should not be significant or inappropriate. We will feed this back to the Surgery Team Leader.

Receptionist very pleasant and helpful - answered my queries and got immediate booster jabs owing ( MMR and Tetanus) and appointment for asthma clinic. Such a shame we can't get same service over phone and no appointments face to face only online when a lot of us older patients have no way of doing this! Service could be greatly improved by returning to the old appointment system. With fines for those who miss them for no good reason.

Thank you for your positive feedback on our reception team, and the 4 star review. We are currently reviewing our system. We would not be able to return to the old appointment system as it no longer matches the demand or capacity. Since COVID we have seen a shift in the ratio of urgent:routine, and we have employed a vast number of additional health care professionals. However that's not to say we cannot review and amend and make improvements. We will communicate anything as they happen!

Fines have long been on the agenda and we are not sure what will happen, but it is frustrating when we see the number of DNA appointments and the consequential impact these have on our capacity.

Thank you for your feedback. Please can you contact us on 023 9262 7765 to discuss further. You are quite right, we should and do have lots of BP cuffs, as well as a BP machine within our Patient Pod at Cosham Park House, so this requires investigation.
