I attended the doctors a few minutes before my appointment time, to be told that the wait was 42 minutes. 42 minutes went by still not been seen. An hour later I asked if I was going to be seen today they said in a few minutes. Half hour later I was finally seen so a total of an hour and a half I was waiting. When I got to see the doctor she had no idea why I was there. I was extremely worried about my abnormal results and expected the doctor to at least have some idea about what she was talking to me about.

1. This mobile number is pt's daughter and only to be used in emergency not for any other comms ie these texts. Surgery have been informed on many occasions so unsure why not added to pt notes?? 2. Pt is 80+ and cannot get an apt over telephone. Asked to submit online, not everyone can or wishes to. 3. On trying to make apt for pt, daughter informed he could attend Paulsgrove to arrange triage apt call. Arrived, told could not. Further delays. Appalling service Meaning???

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you have been contacted, when this number should only be for emergencies, we have advised the relevant team and will update the record. We are aware that access can be difficult for patients, however if a patient does not have the facility to make an appointment via telephone or on-line, then of course our reception team will assist.

Medication review.

I was told by the receptionist, when she booked me the appointment, that I would receive a phone call at 9.00am.
At 9.45am the call came through and I was told that I shouldn’t have been given a time for the call. I explained that working in a school was very difficult to be able to take a private call.
Due to needing some medication that was not on repeat, I had completed 2 econsults a couple of days before the call. She explained that she was not able to put 2 of my medication on repeat prescription.
Although the pharmacist was very pleasant, I’m not happy with how difficult it is to get important medication that is not on repeat prescription.
Econsults are often cut off by 8.00am, you can’t write a letter and you can’t order medication over the phone! It causes so much more work for the surgery and on top of that, it is difficult to get through on the phone.

Thank you for your feedback. The receptionist should have advised that the appointment was an am window, we apologise that this was not explained to you. Some medications cannot be placed on repeats due to the nature of the medication. We do close off our eConsults once we have reached capacity, although you can request on-line using a textual request.

I visited the GP to discuss my blood test results and have a physical examination. The doctor was polite and professional but unfortunately, she was unable to diagnose my health condition. I will probably have to see a specialist. Apparently the NHS waiting list could be as long as 18 months!

Referral letter

I was after a referral letter which I was told I would have to do a consult call which I did and I was sent a text to say they would reply within 5 working days, a doctor spoke to me and stated that she was going to do this, a week later I rang and spoke to reception to enquire when this would be sent out after a long conversation finally I was told they are waiting on the secretary to which I asked how long would this be as it was urgent, I gave a case number that I got from Bupa and then asked how would I know when this will be done I was told I’ll get a text which as of today 25th July I still haven’t heard back my reason for chasing this is as I have been under the physio and awaiting appointment to have an ultra scan on my shoulder to confirm the physios diagnosis torn ligament and an operation is needed. I appreciate it’s busy but this problem which I have has been going on since April and it’s affecting my day to day work and welfare, not sleeping due to continued pain.

Thank you for your comments. Urgent and 2WW referrals are prioritised due to the nature. Where possible we ensure that all other referrals are completed no later than 2 weeks, in this instance the referral was sent on within 7 working days, which we believe is an an acceptable timeframe.

Blood pressure

I was invited by the surgery to pop in and have my blood pressure taken, unfortunately it seeded rather high, I was advised by the nurse to monitor it for a week morning and evening for seven days and come back the following week. Results were my blood pressure was good for a man of my years.
