Recent appointment for a scalp scrape

I had an appointment for a scalp scrape...the nurse found nothing to scrape and said she would get the dr to contact me...They did and recommended an antifungal shampoo...if the nurse already couldn't scrape it seemed pointless ...that there was no fungus. I have been suffering from Long Covid...I thought I would have been seen and given blood tests.

Thank you for your comments. Treatment can be prescribed without being able to get scrapings, this is a first course of action, if this does not work an alternative may be offered. If you are concerned you have Long COVID you would need to make a separate appointment for us to carryout an assessment, you would then be referred if required.

Wound dressing…ongoing

This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery

The lengthy process of a hole in my chest wall closing up is a lengthy process for my body to accomplish, - as it would be for anyone else.
The speed with which infection can take hold is something that I have seen so many times during my lifetime, and when it came to me being in the frame for preventative aftercare, I was grateful for all that has been done to date to keep the wound site (and operation site) clean and gunge-free by the clinicians at my practice.
I am in the last few weeks (at the rate of healing so far) of dressing changes and hope to be clear very soon.
The advice given at the time of dressing and the care extended to prevent serious infection has been invaluable and the staff cannot be praised highly enough.

Appointment was for a blood test. Arrived just before 8.30 and booked in - no problems.
A few minutes after 0830 nurse came to waiting area for me.
Nurse was very pleasant and explained everything that she did, and checked the computer to ensure nothing was outstanding with regard to my treatment/care.
No complaints from me about this visit.

A breath of fresh air

This is a review for Somerstown Surgery

This was billed as being no more than a "meds review" by phone but due to my condition turned into a full review in person. I'd not met the clinician before, he was utterly charming. As per usual there was no sense of rush as was my experience elsewhere. He explained what he was going to do, did it, asked if I had any questions, and answered them in full. What a breath of fresh air compared with previous centres.
