Polite, understanding and professional

This is a review for Crookhorn Surgery

The receptionist that dealt with my query was very helpful, polite, understanding and professional. After determining that the Practice Nurse would be able to deal with my problem, she arranged for me to return to the practice an hour later. The Nurse saw me straight away and dealt with my concerns. She was very proficient and showed genuine concern. I felt the advice and instruction she offered and was sound, and left the surgery a happy bunny!

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

I have had 2 appointments in the past week at Cosham Park House. In both occasions the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. I had a blood test, the nurse was very nice. I asked a couple of questions which she was more than happy to answer. She was lovely. I also saw the physio gentleman and he was very thorough and helpful. Gave me some good advice.

We provide appointments at all of our sites for patients, however, you can choose if you want to decline an appointment, to wait until you can be seen at your preferred surgery. We are sorry that it was difficult to make the appointment and explain what you needed, although this is something you should prepare prior to making the appointment, perhaps making notes for reference.

I saw the physio with acute back pain. It was referred to Dr Kyd on that day for a private MRI scan. I had a blood test.
As of this date I have not heard a thing! And still in acute pain!

Thank you for your feedback. In most circumstances non-urgent referrals are carried out within 7- 10 days, which is completely appropriate. Once the referral is sent the timescale for an appointment, is that of who the referral is with and their own service standards. We have a no news is good news policy in relation to test results, therefore if you have not received any contact from the surgery, this would indicate the results did not require any further follow-up by us. I am sorry you are still in pain, however this may continue until you are seen by the specialist and a diagnosis is gained.

My recent appointment

This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery

The appointment itself was good and the consultant I spoke with was very informative and appeared to be very thorough and knowledgeable in the field relating to my ongoing problems.

However it took me a very long time to book this appointment and it was a very time consuming and contrived process to do so! This alone would have deterred many people to give up trying.

Also I was not informed beforehand that after all of my stress over the week to get my appointment I was only booked in to see a Physio and not an actual Doctor.

The overall service was poor. This is why I have given a poor score.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear you felt booking the appointment was time consuming and contrived. We regularly review our contact centre waiting and response times. We appreciate the demand for GP appointments outstrips the supply significantly. Part of our plan to manage this is to ensure we employ an extensive team with specialist knowledge and skills, so our patients see the right person first time. If you were booked in with a Physio, it is likely because you expressed concerns with muscular or skeletal issues. Please be assured they are absolutely very thorough and knowledgeable and likely the most appropriate person to deal with your ongoing problem. The doctors would agree they will be the best person for you to see! We are thrilled to have the equivalent of two full time Physios on our team and are pleased to hear that they were very informative.
